Idrive Update?
Hi!
The reason I want an Idrive update is because: 1) I really like the function and the layout of the new idrive system 2) When I listen to musics through the AUX output, it keeps jumping back to radio and it gets very loud, but this doesnt happen very often though. However, the dealer says if they dont notice any problem and they will charge me for the labour (£250 for 2 hrs and diagnose) even my car is still under warranty.. Is there anyway that I can update the Idrive myself cus if I am right, the idrive can be updated using a DVD software (but i don't know where to get it...)? So...shall i still bring it to the dealer or what should I do? PS. its a 2007 e92 335i. Thanks! Barton Sorry to post it again in the UK section because I think it might be a good idea to ask locally as well. |

Do you mean firmware software update? If so, this will not give you the new interface. Thats only for cars with the new HDD based idrive which is a cost prohibitive upgrade which not many places will undertake.
Sounds like its switching to radio when traffic reports are on. Press down on the track/channel you are playing and click off TP to see if this makes a difference. Last edited by flyfs6; 02-16-2011 at 02:33 PM.. |

FWIW there is no updating YOU can do to the idrive system.
All you can do is update the nav system with a newer disc.
