What would it take to run e85
I know e85 is corrosive to basically everything except plastic and stainless steel. But most components in the fuel system are plastics or stainless already.
The thought of running nearly 100 octane for around $2.50 a gallon makes me curious. We really have the perfect engine setup and tunes available to take advantage of e85's benefits. Anybody research this to find what actually would need to be done??? Any info would be great. |

Would need injectors rates at higher flow. And a hpfp capable of flowing more fuel. Neither of which are available right now.

Would need larger injectors and pump.. Spraying E85 thru meth nozzle is counter productive.. You have the ability to run 100% meth thru there.. E85 doesnt compare to meth when using a single nozzle setup..

We can wish. In Subies and Evos, it's like running Q116 race gas all the time for the same price as premium fuel. Better performance than meth injection without the extra complication, weight and potential for failure.

Great article as it pertains to small two stroke motors with carbs. Relevant to an N54? Probably not. Do I condone or would I try to run E85 in an N54? Nope, but I wish someone would figure it out. E85 is an amazing performance fuel on a forced induction motor. |

may take a bit, but somebody will. Doesnt sound like the corrosive properties will have that much effect on the fuel system. So the only issue is supplying enough fuel?? That will happen cuz they have to be running out of injector already with these high hp tuned with meth cars. Only time will tell.

I don't give up that much on my Subaru. I drop from an average of 20mpg on premium vs. 16.5mpg on E85. The last time I was running it (Summer), even with the reduced mileage based on the lower price of E85, I was still coming out a penny cheaper per mile driven on E85 vs. premium. |

Do you have the link to Cp-e post. My buddy was telling me a lot of the cobra guys are running E85 and would love to start playing with it in my 335.

I know Terry on the jb3 changes fueling resistors and significantly increase the fuel supply into the cylinder to run nitrous. What does the proceed do on fueling? How much can the proceed increase the fuel volume through the injectors? |
