Changing shift knob in auto

I have looked and I can't seem to find out how to remove the shift knob in my auto 330. I mean I have seen the manual DIY and it basically just says yank and I don't know if I want to try that.

Do it.. Yank straight up. Try not to hit yourself in the face it will come off and the new one pops back on

Lol thanks I will let you know if I am missing any teeth afterwards. Is it better to put it in Neutral and then pull it up?

What about the brake handle is it a yank kind of deal too?

Yes, both are removed with a yanking/jerking motion. It doesn't take all that much effort, but people try to get them off with just a steady pull. There's a friction point that needs a jerking motion to get them off. Yes, put the shifter in Neutral so you have a more straight up angle.

Ha well I got them jerked out. I didn't know that the entire boot would come with the E-brake handle. But both are replaced now!!

Yeah, the normal way to remove the ebrake handle is to release the base of the boot and fold it back over handle. Cut the zip tie that holds it onto the handle and then pull the handle off.

The angel eyes were my extra gift that showed up today. The Lux angel eyes are seriously amazing.

The e-brake handle was just a nice thing to replace because I liked the looks of it.

Haha my passport detector plug is in the background.

This is exactly why that I changed the shift knob. Not only is it peeling but its also bubbling and just showing wear.
