PLEASE HELP : taking rear boot 320d badge off <<<<<

Hello everybody,

Have anyone of you even taken rear boot badge off ? In my case its 320d badge.
Please give me some tips

I will really appriciate them

Get some fishing line, or dental floss.

Place this behind the badge, and in a saw type action cut through the possible sticky pad behind, moving in to the securing lugs, and then around the badge.

There are 2 lugs - left and right that secure it also.

Once you have finished with the dental floss, place a towel or similar cloth near the badge, to protect the paint work and carefully use a thin blade screwdriver, or something similar to get underneath the badge, and slowly start to lever it upwards, moving around the badge slowly - trying to stay as close to the lugs as possible ..... it should then pop out easily.

Aha, great, but...
When I take it finally out there will be 2 holes on the boot because of 2 lugs ?

There are no lugs and therefore no holes - it's simply held by 3M double-sided impact tape. Warm it gently with a hairdryer to soften the adhesive and then use some dental floss or fishing line as mentioned to cut through the adhesive. Clean the patch once removed with some meths or a bit of petrol on a cloth and then re-wax the area. Piece of piss.

It's only the BMW roundel that has lugs. Model badges are just stuck on

Easy , soak with tar/glue remover and use dental floss as mentioned. The remaining adhesive will be soaked and will peel off.

eBay can also be your friend here. I bought a can of label remover spray for £3, it eats the glue so the tape pulls off, then you just clean and polish the boot to remove any residue. Did mine in 15 mins.

I always use a Tesco carrier bag handle. Other supermarkets available!

Works great.

i use a hairdryer to heat up the glue under the badge. then i use dental floss take it off

easy!
