I have just bought a set of 18 bmw oem wheels i am going to fit winter tyres on them ready for next year what size should i fit to these wheels also does anybody have any recomends for tyre brand also

First off, what widths are your wheels?

There's lots to search on here, but I use (and highly reccommend) Vredestein Wintrac Extremes (M+S w rated) on my 18s.

Mine are 225/40/18 92W all round on 18x8J rims.

I've got 245/40/18 and 255/40/18 Vredestein Wintracs - no issues with this sizing.

They are fucking brilliant.

Ahh, the best laid plans.

I tried this last year. Bought a set of 18" M-Sport staggered rims and looked for some Winter Tyres

Of course this time of year the Winter Tyres are all sold out and new ones only arrive in November. So waited until November. Could I find appropriate 18" tyres with the correct widths and ratings...could I hell. I eventually sold the 18" rims and bought 17" non staggered rims that had been fitted to a brand new 330d. But I still couldn't find tyres. Eventually E-tyres came up trumps with a set of Conti's. The 1 week delivery turned into 3 and I spent 3 weeks up to my neck in snow without winter tyres.
When they finally arrived they transformed my car from the absolute worst on the road to one of the best...given that hardly anyone else had fitted winter tyres. The mobile fitting service was very good...much better than I expected

The Winters are manufactured in Summer time ready for the changover in October, most first deliveries are here by September.

You can pre-order at most places now and they'll call you when they're in.
