question!!!!!!!!!! thankz!!!!!!!!!!
Hi everyone. I love my car a lot. i drive a 07 e90 328xi but everytime when i went over a pothole or any rough road. "BAM" i though my car is gonna fall apart. So now everytime when i drive, i get so paranoid. this not comfortable at all. i had driven a loaner be4. same model. they were fine. i dunno is my run flat cost the problem or my suspension. is anyone have an idea?

The answer is pretty much replace the RFTs with non-RFTs. Been thinking about doing that myself.

the loaner almost definately had run flats as well, so I can't imagine that they would be the entire problem. Run flats definately make the ride worse, however.

What you're experiencing is your car bottoming out on it's suspension. Replacing run flats may lessen the impact a bit... but your suspension is still bottoming out. This could be due to worn shocks and/or the pothole you've hit is just so deep and abrupt for the speed your traveling that it would cause even a new suspension to bottom out.
During the recent rains, there were some nasty potholes in my area and I bottomed out my brand new car's suspension on more than 1 occasion. Solution is to try to avoid hitting potholes as much as possible. Alternatively, you can switch to 17" rims/non-runflat tires which would lessen the harshness on impact and keep you from denting the shit out of your rim. |

Well, you could theoretically switch to a coilover suspension that's firmer and keep the same stock ride height. That would keep you from bottoming out. That, and switching to 17s or 18s would provide more comfort when you hit harsh bumps, potholes, etc.

17s and stock suspension still sucks. I just swapped out my rfts and it helps but could be better.
I'm waiting for the release of new springs and then I'll be switching to bilsteins here in about a month |
