*N55* My review of the InJen intake
My review of the N55 InJen intake:
I’ve had the intake for about a week now and I didn’t want to write a full review until I really tested it out. The first day I had it, I floored the hell out of my car. I loved the sound of the intake and every time I hear it spool up, I become very giddy like a little girl. The noise it makes is honestly phenomenal and when I let off the gas, it sounds like a blow off valve! Anyway, enough with the noise it makes. How does it feel? InJen is very conservative with their dyno runs and my ass Dyno believes that it feels more like 2-3 more whp than they claim. The torque is just amazing. I swear that when you lightly press the gas, it’ll throw you back. It immediately spools up and is ready to go. I did a lot of 3rd to 4th gear runs on the freeway and the results were amazing. The car breaths much better at higher RPM’s and its acceleration increased a lot too. It was also pouring rain over the weekend and I really mean it was pouring. I was slipping all over the freeway on Friday night and when I got home, I popped the hood. The intake was completely dry. Monday night, I took my car up to the canyons and I pushed my car as hard as I could. I was in low gears and high RPM’s and I really put the intake to use. Usually, after a hard canyon run like that, the N55 seems to get REALLY hot. But when I stopped to the side to see how hot my car was getting, it was running like I barely pushed it. The intake definitely helps the car breathe better and it cools it a lot better. There is debate about having an aluminum tube versus a plastic one. Aluminum dissipates heat much more quickly than plastic. Plastic is porous and retains the heat in its pockets. This isn’t info that InJen provided me; it’s something that I’ve learned over the years. Another thing that I love about this intake is that it reaches all the way down to the turbo. Their MR technology stabilizes the air-fuel ratio without touching the ECU or messing with the MAF sensor. Overall, I love the intake but I’m willing to try other intakes when they come out. This is just a personal review so that I can share with you guys. I would like to hear what you guys have to say and I’m open to any questions. Video will be up soon! |
