If the matter goes to court, you can request restitution from the crooks. Failing that, there is a victim idemnity fund that you can apply to, however given the trivial nature of the offence, and the fact that you can afford to repair the car, I'd forfeit that option IMO.

I am glad the police have stepped up and took the prints. As I have mentioned, I lived on Yonge and Eglington in the past and have had my car broken into. The police were not interested in looking for prints. They took a statement and that was it. I have also lived in other provinces and have had friends in similar situations and again, no prints.
Again, I am glad this the case for you, but it has not been in my case.
Hopefully they will be caught as if they are on video you stand a good chance.
