Should i sell my Escort Passport 8500 x50 for V1? I got my tax refund back and i'm thinking about selling my x50 and buying a V1 and hardwiring it. Should i do it?? New V1 on the website is 399 give or take...

They are both decent radar detectors. Save your money for something else or till the X50 breaks.

the x50 is good enough for highway. In long island they almost all use laser anyway, so even the V1 won't save you.

Only places I find my radar detector useful these days is the garden state pkwy and any road with State troopers. I think they still use X band on the GSP along with Ka, and almost all NY state troopers use Ka. CT uses laser I don't mess around there

heightened sensivity vs false alerts

have to weigh pros/cons... i find the v1 to be better on the hwy when i need all the advanced warning possible. for local, the 9500ix works great...

do these really work with the LIDAR, now a days since they using laser? What do you guys use? I'm thinking about investing in one.
