E90 M Aero Kit Cost
BMWUSA cost for 2006 E90 Aero kit is $1250.Tischner BMW in Maryland on their web site has it for $850. I live in El Paso and they said the cost for shipping is ABOUT $100-140, its 4 large boxes, not heavy but oversized.
So I ask my very good El Paso BMW dealer about a cost break on his price of $1250, telling him of Tischner cost and the fact I would rather support the local dealer. So Tischner would cost me $950-990 plus or minus a few bucks plus tax. I offer my local dealer $1050, I am saving some bucks, spending a few bucks more than the Maryland dealer but supporting the local dealer. I take the parts to Crawford Auto Body, (Saab, Pontiac, Suburu) where some of the BMW Body guys work when the local dealer had a body shop. They charge me $1038.62 for paint and install. Picked up car today, its great, no pictures cause I do not have a camera and everyone knows what it looks like. chuck 2006 330i, 87 911, BBS CH wheels next major mod, then pictures!!! |

It's great to see so many modders in the Texas area. It just seems as if you all are spread apart more.

It took 2 days to install parts, but they had it in the paint shop for several days. Time to complete will vary, just depends if they devote 1 guy who has done them full time to the job. Now that Body shop has done it they might be faster. I will try and get the car displayed at El Paso dealer so if any one wants to see work up close they can. Maybe the dealer will sell a few more to other cars.

Yes I could have had it just painted at the body shop and If had a friend or myself knew how to install we could have save some $$. I am at work now but over half of the body shop cost was prep/painting as I remember.
The whole point of this thread is to let other owners know 1) where it can be bought very cheaply, 2) a way you might be able to get it at local dealer for less than $1250, 3) real world paint/install costs. I would think that a reasonable talented owner with some assistance could do a install of the parts but if it turns out AFU, then a body shop would be glad to fix the owners mistake for even more $$$. chuck |
