335i WOT bog

quick question...I'm a bmw newb, not a tuning newb...but trying to figure out how bmw's ecu works. Today, for the fun of it, I went WOT off the line on my cousins runway (safest place to have fun around my area)...and the car took off until the point before it would have spun the wheesl...bogged...then took off normal again as if to keep the tires from spinning. I had DTC off so I was hoping to see the tires light up. Do I need to hook my USB cable to my JB4 and change some settings?

You press and hold the DTC button? Just pressing it once will not completely disable traction control.

+1... You should keep pressing the button until the system is completely off, if you don't already do that

keep pressing the button? I've never heard of this...so then how do I know when it is completely off? The light was already on just by pressing it once.

Press the DTC button and hold it about 3-5 seconds. You will get a different looking icon in the dash and the system will be fully disabled. A single press, the system is still on but limited.

If that's his only mod, he could have been completely heat soaked too. Next time just ensure the DTC is fully off, you will see the circle icon instead of the DTC icon.
