ATL - Hot Spot Tinting
Just wanted to give everyone a quick review of Hot Spot Tining in Marietta after reading up on them here and elsewhere.
I took my car back in December to get tinted which ended up costing me $215 for the entire car - not bad. The sides look great but unfortunately the back showed early signs of being plagued with the dot matrix stick issues. I took it back once more in December only to have the same issues come back shortly after. I finally gave it one more shot last week since the weather was warmer and once again it's still pretty flawed. This is not to say that Hot Spot did a bad job - the rest of the car looks fantastic. However, even after 3 tries I'm probably going to take it elsewhere to get it fixed with vinyl or whatever trick they can think of. Consider this a warning though - my 2007 coupe just doesn't want to be tinted and while they tried their darnedest to fix it, they just can't make it look right. If what they and others have said about being the tinter for Global is true, I find it hard to believe. |

Thanks for the headsup.
I know Solarworks in Alpharetta has a pretty good rep for getting the matrix hidden. Unfortunately they are close to $400 for ceramic coated on a coupe (including the sunroof) FYI Alot of tinters use a die cut black vinyl border as a first application before attaching the tint. It helps to hide the dot matrix imperfection. It doesn't hinder your view angle and cannot be perceived from the inside or outside when done right.

I too had my 335i coupe tinted at Hot Spot Tinting in Marietta about a month ago. Had the guy put 35% 3M Carbon film on the sides and rear window.
Was very concerned about the dot matrix problem, and so I made sure to bring it up with him. He told me that it would be very minor because he had come up with some new technique of doing it, and that no one else should be able to notice it who isn't scrutinizing. Guess what??? The dot matrix looks absolutely horrendous! I paid $240 for 3M carbon film on the 5 windows at what I thought was supposed to be the BEST tint shop in metro-ATL! Nichojo, curious who did yours. My guy was a mid-twenties white guy. Lots of tattoos. Let's keep in touch. I'm looking to have mine redone too as it's driving me crazy. BTW, finally registered an account just so I could reply to this thread. Really want to get the rear window done right! |

Hey I'm looking for a good tint shop north or northeast of the perimeter if possible. If you have any recommendations, I would like to see them. Thanks in advance.

Very interesting replies...
Let's definitely keep in touch. I'm not going to worry about it any time soon but I do want it fixed at some point. It really is a joke. The guy that did mine was a younger black guy - super nice though. You may have had Mark, that sounds like his description. |

I'm so mad now. I had a ticking/popping noise coming from the back of my car that ended up being the pulled away tint clicking against the headliner. Unfortunately for Hot Spot, I now work a mile away and they will be seeing me soon.

Anybody get have their tint done with Solar Gard Ultra Performance film, and if so, what did they charge you? I hear this is some of the best stuff out there...

I am also hearing that Pinnacle Formula 1 is a good one...any dealers local to ATL (preferably north/northeast) that anyone can recommend?
