How did BFWD get so popular?
I've been out of the detail scene for awhile but back when I was in the CG everything, FMINUS godly post, and detail image (are they still a sponser?) I remember seeing the product out but not a lot of people were using it. So i guess the question is...how did it get so popular all of a sudden instead of the usual Jetseal?

DI is still a sponsor, but I haven't seen FMINUS around for a while. I guess it got popular just like any other product - it's high quality and leaves a tremendous shine (especially on darker cars) with excellent durability. It's just good stuff and people know it.

where is the cheapest place to buy this stuff? I can't find it at any local stores. Are they only sold online for 30 bucks?

Detailing products, and the marketing for them regardless of how good or bad depend on trends.
The right product at the the right time, talked about by the right person at the right time will change the tread. BFWD was around a loongg time and while it looked the same, never got great reviews. Somehow getting more durable (despite me not seeing any difference in the new formula) because I think it was talked about at the right time. It performs the same as the original formula in our testing and evaluation for our customer cars. There are amazing products that simply don't sell because nobody(the right person anyway) talks about them.. That said, JetSeal became popular because a particular person who is looked up to in the detailing community started using it. All of a sudden it has AWESOME durability(it doesn't) and provides such a great look and hi temperature resistance(average look, nothing high temperature to speak of) but then when another "right" person says "well, its easy to use, but doesnt do anything for the look, nor does it have any real durability" - the trend fell to the ground instantly and now Jetseal, which started as **AMAZING** is realized to just another average product. Interesting to say the least... |

Is there REALLY a way to tell the true difference between MPS, BFWD, 845, and all the others?? I think not.
Too many external variables....... - the color - the weather/region - Is it garaged or not - Does the detailer use the proper technique - Was the car prepped properly. - the surface temp at application - did the detailer fight with his wife before he set out to the garage etc etc etc |
