Really Confused.. lci, pre-lci.. aero???? NEW HELP

First off, I'm a new member to this forums and I've been digging around for a week now looking at everyone's cars, taking ideas and researching before I started to ask questions. So please take it easy on the noob... this is my first BMW coming from a Jaguar.

I will be getting a 2006 BMW 325i on Monday and was wondering what is all this pre-lci, lci, face lift pre face lift talk that I see going around?

Also, I have been looking around the forums on front spoilers/lip or whatever the correct term is... I've been looking and I am confused on the whole Mtech thing... What do people mean when they say mtech bumper? Is it this?

Because this is my ACTUAL car that I am getting...

Is my car considered a pre-lci? Someone please help me verify everything so I can start my modications...

I really want to achieve this exact look... How do I start? not the OSS... the whole front look

Also, the whole LUX thing... If I were to get the Lux which ones do I get for my AE? The H8? or the one they have listed as Lux e90 v5.1? Confused on the two... Is the H8 for non xenon cars? Because mine comes stock Xenon.

Thanks everyone, I'm anxious to get my 325i next week and join this huge family..

Also, it is amazing on how helpful, informing, structured and organized this forum is. Glad to be a part of it!!!!

those are two different cars so its gonna be kinda hard to achieve that look. ones a coupe and yours is a sedan.

Blue car has a front Mtech.

The look you said you wanted is a 3-series coupe so you won't be able to get that unless you do a front end conversion.

If you have xenon headlights you want Lux 5 not H8.

thanks for such quick replies... so that Front Aero Lip isn't achievable for my car?

How about the whole pre-lci, lci stuff? what does all that mean?

Front aero lip only for e92s

You could get splitters like these though

Yeah like everyone else said your gunna have to do a pretty big conversion to match that coupe. For the most part its gunna create a crater in your wallet if you want to go through with the full conversion of pre-lci to lci. But then again its your call.

Oh okay, I get it now... so I guess my car is a pre-lci... and I could either get the M-tech bumper with the m-tech splitters... or just get the splitters on my oem bumper... or I can get the M3 replica bumper and call it a day... hmmm so many damn decisions... I'm leaning more towards the oem splitters... but their so pricey on jlevisw... they got for $319 for painted w/o shipping... a m3 rep is going for $469 w/o shipping... a $150 difference but a completley different look than just gluing on some splitters..

Its more than $150..... You still have to get the bumper painted and installed. A lower cost option is the splitters from Ebay. A painted one should run you about $100-$150 shipped or the dry carbon fiber from Bimmian for $199. Obviously, the quality of the Ebay splitters might not be as good but you get to keep some $$$$ in your pocket or toward your next mod. Regardless, just remember to have fun.

LCI - Lifecycle Impulse

The LCI's are basically a mid-generation refresh on the 5th generation 3 series(E90/1/2/3). Headlights, taillights, grilles, etc. E90/1 from 09/08 and E92/3 from 03/10, for all models including the M3.

Upgrading to LCI cosmetics will dent your wallet as others have said.

My first BMW was a 2006 325i sedan. Loved that car. Do it slowly and you'll get wherever you need to be. Welcome to the forums, and have fun!
