afe intake

Ya i have the intake on my 2007 bmw 328 xi w/o active steering I installed it about 2000 miles ago and i love it its feels to me like the car pulls slightly harder but most people on here say it does nothing It makes a huge difference in noise level though around 3k-4k rpm it sounds awsome and around 6k it screams as noobish as that sounds lol but i love it i think i gained one or two miles per gallon with it but when i hear it i tend to drive harder on the throttle so lol i havent really had a chance to see how much better the gas goes on normal driving. In all i think the intake was worth it especially when you are putiing more parts in like ME im planning on doing the aa tune and a full catback exhaust so my whole rpm range will be changed from stock. Let me know if this helps and if you have any trouble installing it pm me and ill help u its kinda tough if youve never done it before

Thats mine if it lets you view it lol im new to the forums good luch though

Ask some of the other afe intake ppl that got rid of it and they might be able to give you a more detailed specific description of the occurrence since obviously "surge" isant the proper terminology. I appologize for my severe incompetence. But the fucking thing surges idk how else to describe it. It seemed to lose power down low

I agree from past experience. CEL kept on coming on even after reinstalling it 3 times by 3 different shops.

I have done a lot of research on CAI kits on various platforms. Usually any gains that could be realized are counteracted by the fact that most of these kits suck in hot engine air. In most cases you were batter off running your factory intake and looking for a less restrictive air filter.

afe intake

one of the stock hoses is used to fit i all together its the one that comes right off the throttle body i had the same problem lol its an elbow let me know if you still are having issues

And for the other people who have a issue with the afe intake idk how you put it on or what you all did but i think mine works good i havent had any issues or check engine lights or anything so maybe it does suck in hot air but from my expirience it still feels better then stock

im not sure what your talking about i ended up cutting a small portion of the housing to make it fit because the bar was blocking it from sitting in place

yeah to be honest i bought it off **********s and they didnt tell me anything about the bar or having to mod it until i tried to install it myself and got stuck then looked into other posts and figured had to take off the bar which there was no way in hell i would do or cut the housing so thats what i did.

Koko, you should've done the k&n drop in with charcoal delete. Saves a lot of money, doesn't rob power either. The AFE heat soaks, and from what benzo was saying it "surges", I think he meant heat soak.
