thinking of jb+

Hey guys im pretty new to the forum, i got an 08 bmw 335xi last month and now i feel into modding it. Its completely stock now, just did the exhaust flap mod by unplugging the switch.

I was thinking of starting off slow and getting the jb+ first to see. If i get it to 75% and run it and need to get work done by the dealer and remove it, will it leave any codes or shadows letting them know it was there? I pretty much bought this car for this price because it cpo'd and dont want to loose it on 1 little mod.

thanks in advance

You're better off with a proper tune. I know they're a little more expensive... but so worth it

Invest in a BT scan tool for the codes. Every tune/piggyback has a risk of throwing codes so it'll be worthwhile to get a BT tool to minimize the risk.

JB+ is a great tune to start out, you can pick up a used one for less than $150. Check out the for sale section. Installation is a breeze, and you can easly pick up 50 extra ponnies. When it comes to the BT tool, it's really a good idea to pick one up, even if you're stock. I've had my JB+ for two years now, and I'm still quite satisfied with it. Had it anywhere from 75-100% setting, and never had a single issue with it. No codes, limp modes, shadow codes.

Just get the JB+ you be happy with it for a while.

I've gone through most of the tunes avail, JB3, JB4 Procede V4, Cobb AP. Best bang for the buck. We are all really spoiled here with the amount of HP we get for so little money.

In 1 month (or less) you'll end up wanting more power, selling it, then buying the tune you should have bought in the first place (happened to me and many others who I know).

A vast majority end up going with a real tune later down the road. You mine as well just invest in a proper one from the get-go.

We carry all the major tunes and even the JB+ and are running promotions on most.

Hit me up if you have any questions, we've tried all of them over the years and our familiar with how they all work.

Yes its possible to throw a tuner detection code at 75%, its happened on my car once in a year and a half. I wouldn't recommend getting one without a BT cable.

For my current situation and needs, I would recommend a piggy back (choose your side). I went with my current tune because at the time they had many more tricks up their sleeves (progressive map switching, autotune, ect.). The competitor has caught up to the times, but IMO they are always trying to catch up. Piggies just have much more to offer right now when compared to the current flashes. Until Cobb comes out with the ATR I'm not changing over.

This is soley my opinion based on my needs, car's mods, and previous owned tunes....take it for what it's worth.
