How do you get the iDrive software update if you DO have the pop-up arrow display?

I have this feature in my iDrive, but I really want the new 25.1.1 software update. I have an appointment already scheduled.

Anyone know another reason to "complain" about so I can get the damn update?

How do you have an appointment scheduled if you don't have a complaint????

Just say you noticed your IDrive is running slowly, say you have a friend with a brand new E90 and his IDrive responds much quicker.

Complain about any of the symptoms that v25.01.xx fixes.

You can try and say that your systen does the pop up thing intermittently. They might go for it.

Hey, my car has this problem. But it's a March build with at least ver 25.0.0.

your best bet is to tell them the idrive is painfully slow compared to the new ones. show them the SIB and they shall update you.
Call them first and find out what version they have.
old versions have bugs.

Thanks for everybody's input.

After reading more I realized that I DON'T HAVE the pop-up arrow. I didn't know that only if you have the map display in the right window then... no pop up.

I have an appoinment tomorrow morning. Hopefully they wont keep my car forever....

Will post pics and quick review after I get it back...

As I understand it if your car has a build date of pre March 07 your Idrive will have the pop-up arrow problem, plus others such as the CD run-on issue which Progman v25 corrects.

Be warned though - my dealer here in the UK are doing the upgrade quite happily but it is taking them more than the original 48hrs estimate as they are wating for a software patch to be sent directly from BMW in Germany.

They now reckon they'll have it done by next Tuesday.

Make sure you get a loan car from the dealer if you value your mobility!

It is super easy. Just take the service bulletin in that describes how software v 25 update fixes the pop up arrow problem. I don't know where the bulletin is but just do a search. I had pop up arrows too before the update. I simply told them that they do not always work and that my idrive constantly freezes up and I have to pull over and restart the car to make it come back online. They won't be able to prove you are a liar!
