You have to add an amplifier/processor if you want to fix this crap. |

The OEM radio can't handle the stock bass boost to the signal at higher volumes. Also, the crappy 6" under the seat can't play bass with a gun to their head.
I measured clipping at 5 clicks below max output in my tests here, but with music with significant bass content, I'm sure it's quicker. I've posted some screen shots of the measurements of the output of that head unit. |

Omg I had a 2010 328xi loaner and I could not listen to my MP3 player on it. Everytime I plugged it in to the aux port and cranked the volume up it sounded like shit. A stock Civc cound system sounds WAY better. I also noticed that the 2010 no longer has the tweeters near the mirrors.

Im in the same boat with you guys. The only thing to do is spend some cash and upgrade the sound. Im going to get mine done next week! There are a few good posts on what some people did and equipment they used just look through a few of the post. I was on a budget and Im looking at about 1500K. I got the stuff from amazon, some good prices on there!

Fazy, if you haven't actually done it yet, you can't really give too much advice yet, you know?
There are cheap prices in many places. We certainly are an option, if not for you, for others, and we offer service and support for our complete kits (and complete kits with every BMW adapter part, connector, and ring you will need). I've been told by many of our customers that once you factor in what you get from us, we have really good prices. Not buying from us is fine - no law that you have to, and some people aren't looking for our approach. But since you mentioned it... |

i had the base level stereo (6 speaker) in my 2011. it was indeed, awful. if your budget is around $1500 then your right around where you need to be to have it done professionally with good components without going crazy. That was very close to what i spent upgrading mine. and i have to say, its the best money i ever spent. Listening to music in my car makes me smile now.
