Spray paint or vinyl wrap kidney grill?

LCI 2010 E90. What you recommend for the front kidney grill? Sand and spray paint (saw a DIY guide) or wrap them matte black? (Still searching for a DIY on wrapping them with vinyl).
thanks

Buy a set of blacked out kidney grills - they are cheap and easy to fit yourself.

I bought a set of Mat Black kidneys from JlevisW.com and just painted the bottom bumper grilles today. I chose to paint them with w/o taking off the bumper because it was a major pain in the a$$. I used the auto flat black spray paint with plastic coating. Check it out>>>

I would paint the lowers, but at least take the bumper off so you can do it right and make sure it lasts. I took my bumper off the first time in like 30 minutes, popped the vents, washed them with dawn, let them dry and then put like 5-10 coats of flat black spray paint on them and let them dry for a few hours afterwards before putting everything back together. All in all, it prolly took me 5-6 hours with only about an hour fifteen of real work. It's worth the hassle to do it that way in my opinion.

My plan is to vinyl wrap the roof (I have no sunroof) and the side mirrors with flat black. Also wrap the orange side reflectors with vinyl and then paint the kidney grill flat black.
What you think?

I would get the full replacements but they are around 80$. They say plasti dip doesn't chip and costs ~8$

You own a BMW and you're hesitant to spend $80 on a good pair of aftermarket blacked-out grilles, and would prefer to spend "~$8" to spray paint them instead...which will result in them looking like they were spray-painted, especially after they begin to chip from road debris. What's wrong with this equation?

How does rubber chip? If anything, it rips.....never chips.

Plasti-dip will absorb rocks/pebbles if you lay enough down.

+1, and to add to what roundel said, creep the FS/FT threads and you are sure to find some for a good price
