Water etching not coming off with Menzerna PowerFinish
So I detailed my car the other day...using Menzerna Power FInish and the full Zaino deal.
Came out great...incredible gloss and depth I hadn't seen since the show room (or perhaps it was even better than that) But I noticed that all over my car....hood, roof, trunk...there were water etch marks -- I must've accidently washed it one day and neglected to dry it off properly. Menzerna PowerFinish added great gloss and removed swirls but could not touch etch marks...how can I remove these? Will Menzerna SIP do the trick? I believe the etch marks are from a one time mistake when my car had no wax on it, hence why they etched into the clear. Its not a big deal, just curious. |

odd that 203S couldn't take care of them.. i guess the next step up is SIP as you suggested edit: you used a white pad? |

If they are LC pads Orange more aggressive than white. Can you feel the etch marks? If your goign to polish again you'll lose your zaino products. Klasse AIO makes short work of water marks and SIP should as well. If you're going to polish maybe a little IPA wipedown over the spot before polishing or even some white vinegar spritzed on there and wiped right before. Any pics of the spots?

No worries I will do this next year. I worked 1.5 days on the car and she looks great. That menzerna and zaino deep wet look is an eye catcher |

skip the SIP...203 is pretty close in cut, but finishes down better obviously. I would get meguiars 105 instead.
you can get 105 on a white pad and do some good defect removal with minimal pad marring, then do powerfinish on white. That way you will have the 105 on hand if you ever get some scratches or scuff marks. 105/white, powerfinish/white, or 106 on black depending on how well you can get 105/white to finish down 105/orange, powerfinish/white I would also add that topping off everything with 85rd on a black pad will give you even better results!!!! |
