faack these run flats. please advise
im loosing tire pressure. i checked all four tires and the culprit is my rear driver side tire. i jack it up and i can see the tire doesnt have a nail or gash but is def shot. you can see the beginning of white fibers oozing through the rubber on the inside of my side wall. im still driving around my town with little 5 min errands but im i need to decide how to rectify the situation.
1. buy one run flat, drop the going rate for the run flat and ease my mind with the simple fact that i can have a blowout on the bridge and get home safely. i priced two places by me. 350 plus install and 250 plus install for one run flat. 2. buy 4 non run flats and a spare kit because im cool and everybody here seems to switch run flats to non run flats just because the drive is better....i personally came from driving pick up trucks to my beema so my drive/handling is a huge step up. 3. buy one non run flat from tire rack and install at local tire shop (pirelli has a run flat for 182 bucks!) 4. buy 4 non run flats from tire rack and install at local tire shop just wondering....if one tire is non run flat and the rest are run flats...how does that effect car? shouldn't mix RFT and conventional tires, the handling will be really strange. You could buy a used RFT locally, or from sellers on one of the boards, like this one. Or go conventional, which is my recommendation. But definitely stop driving on a corded tire! You are just ASKING for a blowout.

I just switched to non RFTs and I love them. Quiet, smooth and cheaper of course the handling is a little different (slightly more body roll) but the trade off is worth it to me.
