Microfiber is used on the finish so its def safe for wheels..microfiber actually lifts dust and debris out unlike other materials that just scatter em around.

True and I love them, but even on a dry wheel with no water or cleaner? I want to find something that's quick to brush off light brake dust. Detailed the crap out of my car and put some protectant on the the wheels....so not a lot of dust yet...but want to keep it that way.

ONR or PB Spray & Wipe with an MF will let you wipe down wheels effectively if they've been sealed etc.. If the dust bakes on then you'll need a wheeel cleaner and P21S and Sonax do not harm your wheels. Been using P21S for years never ruined any set of wheels including magnesium ones. Now acid based cleaners like Megs WB can damage wheels when not done right, never apply an acid based cleaner to a dry wheel nor allow it to dry. I've seen a far share of older PCar Fuchs alloys ruined with acid cleaners.
Oh and if you're wiping uisng an MF cloth like above expect to replace that towel pretty quickly so don't use really good ones unless you like throwing money away.

What do I use to clean the inside of my 1-Series wheels. All this quick clean stuff, including BMW brand wheel cleaner, contains a caustic acid. Guaranteed to take off the clear coat quicker than "hot snot on wax paper." How's that for a visual?

There are a lot of expensive, exotic sounding cleaners out there that I'm not sure are worth the bucks. I hear a lot about P21 and wonder if it is any good, worth the money? What about the old standby "Simple Green"? Looking for recommendations.

Clean and dry your wheels then use Armor All Wheel Protectant, it surprisingly keeps the dust brake off your wheels.

I just washed my car for the first time in 6 weeks. The wheels looked awful. They now look perfect. All I used was car wash (Dino Juice, the purple one) and a wash mitt. Why bother with wheel cleaner?

U can use it dry absolutely..if u r just touching up fairly clean wheels..

ur always gonna get dust and dirt accumulate on your wheels..just no way around that..gotta get into the habit of cleaning wheels often..thats the key to keeping em looking good.,, a far as cleaners/waxes etc..? i dont use anything but soap and water, Tide..

Had my wheels for 3 years and they look just as good as the day i bought em.

I neglected my wheels for about a year, and had some nasty caked on brake dust. I tried several wheel cleaners and nothing took off the caked on dust. Until I got a bottle of Sonax. It still took quite a bit of work, but it got my wheels clean.

That being said, if you follow others' suggestion of weekly cleaning, you won't have to worry about caked on brake dust.

Just use the soapy wash water when you are finished washing your car, an EZ detail brush and a mothers powercone will get it done quickly and wax your rims when you wax your car.

Use a PH neutral aluminum friendly wheel cleaner when you have your wheels off to get the barrel and behind the spokes and then wax them.

You guys really like the armor all wheel protect? Have you guys ever used wheel wax, poorboys wheel sealant, or sealant in general? I wonder how they compare. I used opti-seal on m wheels about ever month.

Opti Seal will work as good if not better than dedicated wheel sealants/waxes. I put a coat of sealant everytime Ireseal the paint and use PB wheel sealant in the interim about every month or so. Wash using the shampoo I an using for the car or if really dirty or it rained and caused the dust to become brake mud then I break out the P21S.

I just liking the opti seal because all your do is spray and wipe. Much quicker then waxing then having to wipe off residue.

Sonax or P21s gel. Sonar is a little better..and it changes color when working. Hard to beat that.

Good luck.
