There is a DIY on how to run it through the firewall, its real easy..

Take off panel under glove box.
Take ECU Out
Run wire through back bottom of ECU housing.
Maybe 20min
Even a rookie could do this...no skill required

I know you guys are busy Shiv, but as you can hear from a few people, it would be really nice as part of some documentation to get basic scenarios and what to expect. Like if one leaves the traction setting at 30% as you recommend, what can you expect the car to do if

1 - All nannies are on
2 - You press the DTC button once

I'm personally confused still because pressing DTC once is supposed to allow wheelspin, and so is leaving traction control at 30%. So it would seem redundant to me to press the DTC button once AND leave Procede TC on at 30%.

The value of the Procede traction control diminishes as you run more BMW nannies. It's most useful/effective when all nannies are disabled (ie, drag strip) or when the DTC button is pressed once. Leaving all the nannies on will result in the BMW electronics intervening before the Procede has a chance to. That is not to say that that is a terrible thing. There really is no more documentation. All you need to know is the Procede intervenes by cutting boost the moment you get wheelspin. And the Traction Threshold adjustable defines the amount of wheelspin required to trigger the boost cut.

Shiv
Shiv -

So if you wanted 15% slip (meaning the rear tires are spinning 15% faster than the fronts), would a user be able to set the Traction Treshold to that value?

Shiv,

The baro is still disabled? I left it off since I didn't see anything in the ReadMe and in a previous beta it was disabled and suggested to leave off.

Baro feature has been disabled for a while. Now it is used to tell the Procede what kind of methanol kit you have (pwm vs pps). You can see this reflected in the new software I posted up last week.

I have had some wheel time on 6-14. The car is so much more fun to drive... it is really well setup now. I just can't wait for the PWM Meth kit to see what that will do on top of my mods - it was supposed to come last week....

The car pulls really hard now... how "surprising" is meth? or is it a mild increase?

Good times man...with meth you'll be upping boost and reducing timing retard so more whp...more whp = more fun

Loving these new maps. I don't get the WG rattle that I had during the 5-10 maps, seems to be very similar to the 12-17.

Oh, and if you are running an Aquamist meth kit, don't enable the PWM mode made a funny sound on my HSF-3. Thought I'd give it a try. I still need to have you guys wire in my kit to the PROcede (put the HSF-3 off to the side for a while).

Isn't the HFS-3 a pwm kit? Shouldn't it run exactly the same?

It is, but I beleive this funtion is specifically for Shiv's kit where the PROcede controls the system. I would like some more information regarding this subject, however, I'm certain the answer is NO it won't work with my specific setup.

As far as I know, it's fairly easy to have my system be run by the V5 and spoke to Shiv about this a few months back. The HSF-3 will just have to collect dust as the V5 is the new controller, which will work out better in the long run.

Back on topic.....the new maps rock!
