On step 14 it says to delete EC-APPS, EDIABAS, and NCSEXPERT folders. I didn't get a NCSEXPERT folder after installing Standard Tools. I have a NCSEXPER (no T) folder though. Do I delete the NCSEXPER folder or leave it there?

It was a typo, you delete that folder.

Yes, download and import each of them separately.

I watched LMB335is's video on how to use the BMW coding tool. I'm using NCSEXPER_64 and I don't have the Wedge Performance Write profile he mentions to load. Where can I get this profile?

Thanks

Profiles can be named anything you want when edited. I'm not positive but I think in wildcatcrazy's setup CNCoding profile is equivalent to the WPerf profile I use.

Compare the two pics. The expertmode profile doesn't have the FSW-/PSW-Manipulate box checked, which keeps it from writing any changes so it will only default code back to original values. The Writing profile has this box checked and will write the coding changes when you change one of these default values. That's really the difference between the two. See the profile info tab? Here you can go in and change the profile name to anything your little heart desires. It changes nothing about the profile itself, just what it's called. I think that's where a lot of confusion arises. We see all these profile names and think they're all something special but in reality they're all the same as far as what it will do, they're just named differently.

If this install has assisted you in achieving a working set up, please click the appreciate link, thanks!

Edit 1: Added F series files for INPA. Added support files for N47.
Edit 2: Added working copy of NCS Dummy.

Thank you so much for this.
I couldn't get anything to work until I found this thread.
Excellent work!

Not sure where you are at with this but I had the same issue with a so called k+dcan cable that worked fine on my 05 E61 (kcan) but wouldn't work on my August 08 E91 (dcan). I wasted so much time on it before another Amazon cable solved it.

It was the cable. I got identical one but it had a QC mark on it so somebody tested it apparently. But there isn't that much in INPA a bit disappointed. I searched through menus for Vacuum solenoid test/activation and cold not find it, nor service reset. its an 2010 335d. Actually under n57 engine there isn't much to play with. Did find a glow plug failure woho

I've been trying to reset the transmission adaption values through INPA, but when I load up the software, I click on E82, then select Automatic Gearbox GS19, but when it tries to read the module, it comes back with "Requested Control Unit Not Found, GS19/V.106......." Control Unit Found: GS1912.

Can it be windows 10 incompatibility?? My car has superchips map on it. But have successfully read the codes with http://palmerperformance.com/products/scanxl/index.php and bosh carserivce reset service etc.. It shouldn't be that.. but I am suspicious of my vaccum solenoids... it pulls sometimes so I can feel the air thingy in back rest and wants to kill me in corners and other times its like meh......Think INPA would get me closer to an answer...
Hey, I gave up inpa! I went to the guy from the other forum who tested it with his cable and it also did not work. And my cable with his program does not work...... He showed me something else to read my car out.

I ordered a "carly for bmw" connector and downloaded the full app on smartphone/ tablet. (total +-100 euro). For me this is good enough. I can read/reset fault codes and reset service and read live parameters while driving. You can even do some coding with it and it makes a backup before coding something.... really easy to use... I solved my problem with my dpf (diesel particle filter) on my 530d.
My thermostats are broken and will be replaced. Engine temp. was max 66°C after 1 hour drive....... Because of this the dpf wont regenerate...

Hi Wildcatcrazy, thank you for all the info you provided. I am a new comer on INPA. I want to do a fuel injector recode. following this blog, I finally got my XP laptop to read information from my 2009 335xi and reset error code with a K+DCAN cable. But, I am still getting two errors: 1. when I pick option <F2> and [functional jobs], it say "Language variants do not match. Malfunction possible!"
2.when I pick option <f2>,Engine, MSD80.0 for N43 N53 & N54...,<F9>,then shift <F4> it say "Apiresult Text: Error #100 sys-0010: INITIALIZATIONERROR API job error or no such result !" and no injector compression display.

I cleaned and reinstalled all programs but same outcome. What did I do incorrectly? AM I missing some files or have incorrect setting?

Thanks for your help in advance.

The mismatch error is normal and is due to a mix of US and Metric values used.

For the injector coding, can you list the steps taken to get that error? This set has coded injectors successfully before.

After I sent for SOS last night, I figured I had nothing to lose so I did another complete uninstall and reinstall the software but I did not have time to test it last night. 9:00 pm tonight, I've tested the program just now and it is working as expected. I am very grateful for your quick response and all the information you provided in this thread. Indeed, your method is much cleaner than other. I think I can complete the injector coding project now. Thank you so much wildcatcrazy.

Hello wildcatcrazy, firstly I must say BIG thanks for posting this thread, truely appreciate! I'd download all your files, got an used XP Laptop and now awaiting for the cable. If I could ask you some more questions before I started, I summarize them as follows:
(1)
I'm driving a 2008 E90 335I (EUR) with "zero" mod with 72K KM. And I don't plan to do any mod in the near future (illegal here), just try to get the error codes of the vehicle as it's aging. Will try to do some simple DIY as the dealer price tags are getting higher
(2)
I don't have any external power tender while using this software tools and in fact, I can't get any power outlet anywhere I park the car. I will have to turn on the engine while working on this software tools. While the engine is running, will the "hidden or specific codes" be captured same as the other basic OBD II codes?
(3)
I believe this vehicle need to change the injectors soon (none of the spark plugs/coils have changed so far) as the dealer said the car's computer will tell them when to change them. Is it possible to look at what are the current index numbers being installed in this car while the engine is up and running?

Thanks again!

(2) battery tender is not necessarily needed while coding or troubleshooting as long as you can start your car often. Whatever codes/values will be present while running and not running (except values like live data obviously)
(3) not that I'm aware of... The numbers are listed on top of the injectors.
