Limp mode by itself doesn't confirm anything. There are other reasons you can go into it besides the HPFP.

I have not seen one confirmed report however have read several posts claiming that there are confirmed reports. Please post at least one invoice showing a failed and replaced 943 or 933 pump.

Car does feel slower just like when my other pump failed etc, im assuming its the HPFP since the car went into limp mode, on highway runs..

Im taking the car in on Tuesday and will tell you what the EXACT problem is when they fix it

Hoping you are right, but I just got a 933 last week and now car is starting to show the familiar signs. Stay tuned for update...

Well i just got a call from my SA and she said it wasnt related to the fuel pump lol..

She said the car was throwing boost codes, so the went and replaced the solenoids.
She then tells me that they have to do a extended test drive on the car which would put 100 miles on the car :/, well lets just hope the guy doesn't crash or damage the car by accident.

Btw what in the world is a solenoid lol

I like this approach.... since there is a lot talk about these failures, but just like everyone cries out for dyno sheet to prove the claims --

this is a "first" ..

i'll subscribe to see the repair orders ....

i'm sorry, did you say that you have a current repair order with the failed pump listed??

this is not to say that they dont.... just attitude toward making power and proving claims, this is a novel approach.. one individuals request for more information to substantiate is more that reasonable...

and the question was put to "this" forum, right?

and btw this is not the only forum i read on a daily basis... but it contains the most entertainment value around

It is 943 and just a follow up... I've had mine for a 3-4 months now, 30 miles a day (I have a beater though, drive it probably 2-3 times a week... sometimes more if there's rain) and did a 800 mile drive to ATL last month. Still no issues to report. I primarily use Exxon and Sunoco.

I think this is an electronics issue more than a fuel pump issue. AMS indicated there were problems with the low pressure sensor that causes the pump to blow it's seals. Electronics makes more sense to me b/c some cars go 100K miles with no issues while other go through 5 pumps in 20K. Numerous pumps in a short period on the same car tells me something else is going on.

I think there is no solid fuel pump yet. I have a 2010 (Feb build) and just got the letter extending the fuel pump warranty. I had a 2007 for 3 years/50k and had no issues, so maybe I'll be lucky with this one too.

+1. i was just at the dealer and been told that the code i got (10739 29F3 Fuel pressure sensor, electrical) is link to lpfp pressure sensor, not hpfp and IT WON'T BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE I'M OUT OF 4YR/50K MILES WARRANTY PERIOD.

$160 parts + 3 hours of labour comes out to $600 to my tab... and they also told me BMWNA WILL NOT ACCEPT HPFP CALIM UNLESS I FIX LPFP PRESSURE SENSOR FIRST TO EVEN REPORT

so now i'm forced to fix this lpfp pressure sensor and if i still do get hpfp code or long crank symptom after program update and lpfp pressure sensor fix, then i can calim and BMWNA MAY GRANT THE CASE FOR IT... sounds like A LOT OF BS to me...

VERY IMPORTANT

Guys please report the HFPF issue to the National Highway Traffic Safety Association..Here is the link.

https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ivoq/Complaint.cfm

The more complaints they receive the more likely that they could force BMW to issue a recall and fix this problem once and for all.

There is also an online petition to get our voices heard about the HPFP problems with our cars..PLEASE spread this around..get as many people to sign as possible.. I just did

http://www.petitiononline.com/fixpump/petition.html

Also this problem is finally starting to get some media attention so we need to make a stink to the rest of the world and not just here on the forums. Check this article out...

People with HPFP & wastegate problems need to call this attorney -- they've already started 2 lawsuits in Arkansas and mine in California, but they need more steam to build up a class action -- it's gonna take a consumer uproar to get this German snob to admit faulty design.... it happened with Toyota, why has it not happened here yet? Enough is enough!! Let's do something before someone gets hurt on the road with stalling/limping cars.
