According to ISTA the combo of fault codes points to a failing TPMS transmitter in the wheel itself. You can go to Discount Tire and have them check the battery level in each wheel transmitter. Alternatively ISTA (and possibly INPA) can show you the battery levels in each wheel as well.

Well, well, well... this may not be as traumatizing as I thought it would be! Thanks for taking the time to look that up!

Coincidentally I was trying to connect INPA for the first time (baby steps) and it wouldn't connect. Was hoping to start with the ABS brake bleed procedure, but looks like I'm back to pumping the pedal old-school style!

Try going to device manager and checking the COM port latency. It should be set to the lowest number. Is this a bare-metal install of XP or a virtual machine?

Personally I find 7 to be way more reliable. Takes better advantage of the hardware too (D630 it looks like on your end?).

I had almost given up on the hunt, but found a BMW Performance muffler for sale locally and threw that on my stock exhaust this weekend (just the muffler, without the center section).

Outside, it sounds a bit deeper and throatier, though inside, I can barely hear a difference (again, this is with the stock midpipe/resonator). Thinking about retaining the resonator but deleting secondary cats now.

Yes, XP + the toolset. Firstborn is loading up W7 and seeing if that does anything. I looked at ports and USBs weren't listed, so that maaaaay be the problem. Bummer as I was going to take it for a test drive with the ABS flush... seemed like a good straightforward thing to do. Ended up doing a manual two-person bleed.

Definitely sounds like it! Windows 7 should probably include all the chipset drivers anyways, but I’d also recommend flashing the BIOS to the latest revision as well.

For me, was going to take my car in for a heater core flush (previous one was just a drain, not a flush, found someone else to do a proper flush). But it’s so cold today I’m postponing until tomorrow.

As an aside, I’m getting really good mileage - 22mpg mixed, 31mpg hwy!

Junkyard dog

A friend needed some help with his '06 330, so before he arrived I decided to swap the driver door mirror and door seal I pulled from the junkyard a few months ago. Everything went great, mirror folds and moves normally, a first since I've owned the Arctic Blue car.

We worked on his car for a while and after he left I had to try out my new 7 piece shop-vac attachment kit, carpets are spotless in both cars, such a happy glow in my insides.

ISTA works fine on Windows 7 (and 10, and 11). Have tried it on all 3 and Windows 7 is the least annoying. I have a dedicated machine which doesn’t need internet access anyways (old MacBook Pro).

Ordered the metal trim piece for the ashtray cover - 12 left in Germany, that’s it!

I'm using a dedicated old laptop, since I need a ethernet port for the e-net cable for the F series.

And a battery in the laptop, very important if I trip on the cable.

I was using a old Surface Pro 4, without any battery, I get rid of it since it was too sketchy.

I have one that I'm toying around with installing one of these days. But some expanding nuts and a tool to install them even! One of these days...

Messed with some xHP settings for them crispy shifts. Expected snow tomorrow so flashed Sport mode on xDelete. Never used it before, usually just do On or Off. curious to see how it goes

I have not on the E91 but I did install the Turner skid plate on my E82. If I recall, it came with the expanding threaded inserts and bolts and I bought the separate expansion tool. The learning curve on the inserts/bolts resulted in my messing up a couple so I found a supplier for them and ordered more. I can foresee that multiple removals and reinstallations will sometimes result in stripped threads so I wanted some extras on hand.

I confirmed paint for the new bumper and fenders then put the battery tender on because it’s sat in the garage for a few days because of the single digit temperature. I checked on it after 90 minutes and it was full, not bad for a two year old battery.

2006 325i maintenance recommendations?

I'm replacing the valve cover gasket & also removing the intake to reach/replace the annoying crankcase breather hose.

Would anyone have any recommended part replacements since I'm removing so much??

The car has 225k miles but runs perfectly and has no engine lights. I bought it in 2011 and I'm the 2nd owner. I do 99% of the maintenance myself. The valve cover gasket just started leaking.

If by intake you mean the manifold, then you can also tackle the starter replacement if it wasn't yet done.

I sold it. After owning the 325i for 5 years i thought it was time to let it go as we are moving to Australia in a few months. I will definitely look for another E90 when we have moved though. Maybe an E91 this time. Such a great chassis.
