Sorry, late check-in this morning. Overslept... J.Diddy - call your sales guy after it says 'in transit' in the BMW USA Owners circle (or whatever they call that now). My guess? your not on this ship as it looks like you live closer to the east coast. and your ship won't have to go through the Panama Canal.

fthrower, reading all that musta made you tired last night. Glad they caught the MW in pics for you. I don't know if the Maersk Welkin is considered a ro-ro or a PCC (pure car carrier) and I don't know what the difference is. So there is a question to base your research on.

I am going to take the day off today, last day of school for the kids and have lots to do. I am sooooooo glad that the MW went thru the canal yesterday!

I counted the days till I get my car, 15 more days (+/-)! That sounds much better than a little over two weeks. (I guess days are more manageable in my head) In either case, it is getting close. Woo Hoo!

No time for research this morning but I think it is a pure car carrier. I know it can hold 5000 vehicles but I thought they rolled them off but maybe not. I still wonder what the "inch" and "ceres" mean right by the "BMW" notes on the Oxnard arrival list. 1190 BMWs make sense but what's the other stuff?

If the date doesn't change today on the Port H schedule or if it is moved up one day, I'm going to go out on a limb and be optimistic - We could see our cars by mid-week (24th, 25th).

L - Hang in there. This is much better than waiting for the MW to get the heck out of the English Channel.

I just checked the owners circle tracking thingy. Anyone else showing at prep center? I'm wondering if the site is wrong or if I snuck on to a boat before the welkin somehow.

Hey Ben,

Mine shows 'en route' still and from what I understand, the tracker in BMWUSA is a couple of days slow to post. I think you should call your sales guy, I'll bet your ship came in earlier this week (Boheme? or maybe even earlier!) That would be neat, thinking you won't be here till the end of the month and it is sitting at your dealer right now!

Give your Sales Associate a call! Let us know! Good Luck!

Looks like i got aboard the Phoenix leader or Boheme. Called sales dude he says next week but is looking into nailing down a date for me. I feel kinda special for tracking the wrong boat for so many weeks.

Well Ben we have enjoyed your company! Thanks for the help last night. Looks like you are already thru processing and probably trucking on the way right now. I learned from another thread that that Wagoneer Trucking does most, if not all, the trucking business from the VPC. I don't have the phone number, but I understand they are very helpful if you have your VIN.

Give them a call and let us know.

That was great news for you. You'll be smelling new car before you know it!

I just got off the phone with my sales adviser. He says its not due to dock until tomorrow and after that 10-12days to get up to my location (Eugene Oregon) then another 2 at the dealer or in transport or something. He guesstimated the 27thish... but if it is already docked it may be a few days sooner... I'm so ready to have my car after a Month of relying on the girlfriend transportation service...

There is an 800 number you can call that connects you to the BMW ED office. Its not the production 800 number nor is it the owner circles number. PM if you want it.

Where is she now?

OK--so after the justified celebration of seeing our ship pass thorugh the Panama Canal, and subesquent sleep and celebration, it's time to get back to business. Do we have any better means of tracking the MW in the Pacific than the Atlantic?

The suspense continues to build as she draws closer to California. Also, did anyone note my idea of getting together in Napa in July (Domain Carneros?) to let our cars see their old friends from the trip while we toast to the good life?

Keep those updates coming--this is fun!

Hi Folks! Checking in this morning. As far as any other way to track the MW, I have no idea, but this is my morning ritual. Check San Diego Port schedule, no changes today, check Port of Hueneme, updated their schedule (they do that on Thursdays) no change. Then I go to the sailwx site. I save this one for last because I know it won't change but for some reason I like to punish myself just the same. (I think it is like a gambling addiction). Of course, there is no change there either.

I think fthrower has a good grasp of where the ship should be. My knowledge of geography is poor to say the least. Maybe, if he checks in this morning, he can post a pic of where the MW should be around now.

As far as getting together sometime, sure. Give us a date and we can start working on it.

Have a great day guys, I'm off to go shopping with my girls for Fathers Day.

Leslie

LesLaz - I'm working on that exact location. For the time being, did you notice that the San Diego schedule did change today? They estimate an arrival of 9:00am and a departure of 6:00pm. It can't take more than 12 hours to sail up to Port H. Could we be looking at the 19th? or will they anchor off shore and play poker until the 20th?

Nope fthrower, I didn't notice the change in times. That's good news. As far as the ship getting to Port Hueneme any sooner... who knows? The captain wouldn't want to jeopardize his reputation as "The Slowest Ship on the Pacific Coast" now would he?

AND the Port of Hueneme schedule changes the day before our ship arrives so there is no way of telling if we moved up a day. MY guess? Poker.
