hey shiv, will we need this updated firmware when you have the throttle response adjustability? or can we just use the latest firmware/maps from the other day

If varies from "0.5" to "5" depending on RPM. The user adjustable input will be a global scalar. More on that later. But for all intents and purposes, all the v3 maps posted so far have been set in the middle of the adjustment range.

I'd suggest updating your firmware to what I just posted (beta39). This will solve the valet speed limit concern. The throttle response adjustment will come along in the next firmware update (beta40). Might be several days... don't wait for it

This is good stuff. With all the new enhancements you are releasing, how long do you anticipate v3.1 will be in beta mode?

Shiv my wastegates hover around 60-65...From what you said it should be around 40-50...Is there something thats not right here??? I don't have the lag issue for sure, but I don't want to overspool my turbos either. I have not adjusted the wastegate cycle from the user adjustments...Just want to make sure if the numbers I am seeing is normal from your post of 40-50%??
Thanks

yep... Normal. Just don't use the lagfix unless your DC is in the 10-20% range.

Good question. With each new feature, another feature always seems to be incubating. The official "beta" status will exist until we take a break from development which may not be for another 2-3 weeks. Still have more 29.2/MSD81 specific features to implement. But the good news is that there is nothing "beta" (buggy) about all these v3.1 updates. Just as long as you read and understand the user adjustable documentation, you're good to go.

Cheers,
shiv

The decompression mystery continues. I am running Windows XP SP3.

Ok for anyone who just downloaded that firmware file, then double clicked on it and got the message:

"The Compressed (zipped) Folder is invalid or corrupted"

Here's what you do:

Un-RAR the file. In other words, right click on the file you downloaded, then mouse over the "Open With", then click WinRAR Archiver". Click OK, and you should get a new folder on your desktop called "pro01v03beta39".

Open that folder. Inside the folder there is a file with no extension called "pro01v03beta39".

click on that file name and add ".zip" to it.

Now double click on that file and the native Windows zip archiver will open up the folder and show you the pro01v03beta39.bin file.

Click "Extract all files" and change the destination to just the desktop.

Now you have the file "pro01v03beta39.bin" on your desktop.

If for some reason you still can't get this to work, just PM me your email address and I will email it to you.

Cheers!!!

Thanks for the assist. It's kinda funny that some folks are having a tough time with it. I'm using the standard compression program that comes with Windows XP on my $250 IBM Thinkpad

Same set-up I use when I post up final maps on vishnutuningforum.com and no one seems to have issues with those maps. Could it be something specific to the attachment posting process on e90post?

LOL it wouldn't surprise me at all. I think all the other downloads of maps and firmware I got were off of vishnuforums.com and I had -0- problems before now, so I think you might have something there!!!

Anyway, it's the same process to get the file if you click on it and get that error. It only takes a couple extra seconds to get the file if that's the case. Not that big of a deal!

with the exception of the race gas maps, the actual mapping hasn't changes since v3.0. So dyno numbers will be the same all things equal.

Thanks shiv!!

Would that be around 345whp on 91 octane??

Whats the minimum octane level we can run with the race gas map?? The max we can buy over here is 98 octance, which is similair to 93 in the US I believe.

I think JPSimon is going to the dyno on 100+ octane and the race gas maps this weekend.

you need at least the US equivalent of 100octane to run the race gas map
