Ordered a 335is. Does it come with 18" or 19"

I saw a couple of references to some getting 18" and others getting 19". Does this depend on when you ordered or are people upgrading to 19"? Sounds like one person got 19" for free?

I got black on black with DCT and without Nav. Thinking I should change to black on red and maybe add the nav or portable nav?

go with the black and red. i had that in my old 335i and loved it! i attached a picture for ya. if you ordered your car first...it only came in 18" if you wanted the 313 wheels, which was my case. received my car on June 2nd and placed my order end of March.

I wanted to introduce myself to this thread. I currently have an 08 335i, just got word that my new car is in production with an estimated completion date of 01/21. I probably won't get it here in San Diego until March. On order is a 2011 335IS Convertible, Sapphire black and coral red. I really wanted to keep my AW with red, but it would look too similar to my current car. So HELLO!

^ Hello & welcome.

On a side note: I disconnected the wire to the exhaust flap a couple of days ago and I think I'm going to plug it back in. Around town it's great, but on the fwy the drone from the perf exhaust is annoying. I might rig up an simple switch for it one of these days.

new motor? the iS uses the N54 engine (thankfully). it has just been slightly tuned to provide 20+ hp & some additional torque including the overboost function where it spits out 370lb of torque for 7 seconds. the greatest addition that completely changes the feel of the car is the DCT (Dual clutch transmission). i had the 335i prior and if it was not for the DCT; i would not have gotten another e92.
Actually, when the 370 lb-ft of torque kick in the hp goes way up during that 7 second interval - on the order of 370hp peak at high rpm.

Are there any exhaust vids? I want to hear from outside from a roll.

Thinking of getting the 335is exhaust for my M-sport it is a much cheaper alternative than aftermarket.

whoa. Pls don't spread misinformation. The hp does not go anywhere when using the 369 lb extra boost. It has been stated numerous times that the bhp remains the same even if tq goes up.

all i know is that its a big difference from my old 335i. for example, shifting at 6-7k does a tiny back fire ;D

You're right that hp doesn't ever reach 370, but hp at the RPM where you are reaching 369 lb/ft of torque is clearly much higher than stock (not 70 hp higher, but still noticeably higher). It has to be as you cannot have more torque at a certain RPM without more hp since hp and torque are mathematically equated together by the equation HP = Torque x RPM/5252 (hence why hp and torque curves cross at 5252 RPM). Here's the comparison graphs:

http://www.automobilemag.com/reviews...est/index.html

If you look at this hp chart comparison:

You will see a good 30-40 or so hp bump throughout the range btw 2500-5000 RPM. Plus you will see higher peak hp as advertised also.

I wish they did a comparison without using the sport/boost button. I'd like to see how much lower the hp line would be in that same 2.5-5k rpm range with the normal 332 tq and 320 hp.
I'm no mathematician or engineer so I don't know relationships between tq and hp, but I knew that there had to be some sort of relationship there. But the peak hp doesn't seem to be affected at all by the extra boost and tq. The difference of all N54s and the IS N54 is 16 bhp at most (277-293). That is very representative of advertised 300 and 320 bhp when you factor in drivetrain loss and the fact that they are underrated. I think that this proves that peak hp is not affected by boost and would very likely look the same even with normal 320 hp mode on.
I spend a lot of time in the 2.5k-5k rpm range and even when really getting on it, shift before hitting 5700 rpm because I can honestly feel the car run out of breath as the rpm nears the redline.
