we have a 21 X3 w/the 2L 248 HP and 8 speed AT and it's a bit zippy - can't even imagine the X3MC's performance.
My 2022 X3MC is a fantastic vehicle. I really wanted and ordered a 2022 M3Comp, but never got an allocation. I had sold my 2015 M3 and needed a vehicle so I ordered the X3M. It is basically a M3 SUV. I love it

My wife has a 2019 X3 M40i. It is also a great vehicle and is fast. But it seems slow compared to my X3MC.

Over the winter, I made some changes to the boring gray interior. I decided to introduce some black accents to give the interior some contrast.
Interior Mods:
Black door pulls.
Black Oem BMW cup holders and changed the trim piece from gray to new Oem BMW black.
Oem new shifter trim black
Oem black leather console armrest
Oem new black floor matts
Black speaker grills instead of factory gray
Deleted phone insert in console and added BMW tray

Last mod not finished
Change the driver door “pull” and window switch trim to black

I really like the gray interior, just wish BMW would have two-toned it with gray/black from the factory. It would have been so much easier for BMW to have just had black carpet, black dash, black door upper/lower panels for every E90/E92. All leather colors would have looked great two-toned from the factory and BMW wouldn’t have had to have tan & gray carpets. Just my 2 cents.
Enjoy the pictures and let me know your thoughts. Thanks
I thought I saw a spec of dirt, then realized it was on my computer screen.

My car was that clean once, the day I took delivery of it at the dealership in May 2006.

In my defense the spare tire cage was in the way making it a tight space to work in. The pipe has some spring to it, so it must have tapped on the body tab where it connects to the brake hose. I tried to clean everything the first go round. Must have missed a spot where rust was. I removed the spare tire support cage this time to get it totally out of the way.

Didn't take any pic because, you know, brake fluid...

BMW brakes are back!
YAY!
you can remove the anchor and chain deceleration system and use the trusty brake pedal again....so glad it wasn't something else (like a new line failure).

Polished headlights and fog lamps + removed some of the yellowing. Still would like to get a new set but undecided as to OEM or some decent aftermarket OEM style assemblies. Drivers headlight is aftermarket, passenger is Valeo.

Also repaired SOME of the damage done after hitting some small critter last Nov.

That thing cracked my bumper, drivers air duct, broke two of the L fog lamp mounting points, cracked lower splash shield and the second air guide below the radiator and a number of other things. Even the left fin on the lower air ram structure.

I also lost two of the little cap on diffusers on the bumper. It's really kind of crazy how much damage it caused. Good ol' JB Quik did a pretty good job for temp repairs.

From experience, highly recommend modified OEM Xenons. Best quality you can get on these cars, none of the aftermarkets even come close. Then it's your choice if you want halos, F series style, eyebrows, blackout housings etc. Pricey but for good reason

I'm a little disappointed with BMWs headlight material choice. For such a premium car it uses poor quality plastic for the lense covers.

I have a GM truck that is one model year younger than my Z4. It's lexan lense covers are as clear as the day I bought the truck in 2009. Why can't we just go back to glass?

winter done, 1st test drive on the E91.

Few engine codes, need alignment, need exhaust, something loose in the suspension , need a wash.

Next on the list :

all LCI conversion, fully loaded model interior swap ( leather sport seats, CCC to CIC, M trim, individual sound, rear back up sensor, comfort access).

Yeap, this is the 2nd time I've fully treated them. The Valeo lamp is showing its age while the replacement lamp on drivers side looks better it already has micro cracks in the lens itself. Not exactly sure how old it is.

colorado.e9x In terms of modified lamps it looks pretty sketchy to basically tear the lens off so haven't been too eager haha.

I read somewhere pre-LCI uses more of a butyl sealant that is easier to work with but I have one genuine lamp and one aftermarket oem replacement light. They are also halogen.

Yeah its a huge pain to do but its so much better when its done. Pre LCI from what Ive seen is worse than LCI, you cant just bake them. Have to bake and cut. I had mine sent out and done professionally. I don't regret it I wouldn't do it to a halogen model unless I was retrofitting projectors

Just got my oil pan out to replace the gasket, woohoo!

Everything had been smooth sailing until the point of actually removing the pan from between the engine and subframe. The front "hump" was causing interference, and I couldn't figure out how to get around it.

Came back with a fresh set of eyes today and tightened up my Harbor Freight engine support to raise the engine a tad higher. Finally got it out by playing with some different angles and being patient.

Not looking forward to getting it back in, though.

The good news is that the old gasket was so toasted, it came off easily in one piece.

To be continued . . .

Nice! I'm planning to do mine soon but sort of dreading it haha. Did you loosen the control arm nuts/bolts to drop the subframe a bit more?

Just curious, I've seen this as a trick but concerned about the fact you are supposed to replace them if you loosen or remove them (control arm related hardware).

I am going to try and replace the cat integrated headers while I'm doing the OPG as well, along with motor mounts. Something has been wrong with bank 2 header for a while now. Would love to finally fix it.

Noice, almost every two weeks mine gets the full treatment. I need that turtle wax ceramic 3-in-1 wash plus ceramic spray sealant and it water beads tighter than a new car. Jams get the ceramic 3 in 1 detailer and occasional sealing.

The 3 in 1 detailer can actually clean the little mineral deposit stains that develop on the bottom drains for the door. The modern turtle wax line is really impressive.

Loosening the control arms might be the extra space I need. Thanks for the suggestion.

I have fresh hardware so I might as well.

fckkkkkkkkkkkkk

N54 Swap is complete on the E91, 1st road test this weekend was only few meters, all OK.

This morning , did about 13km to get the car on the exhaust shop.

The BELT SHREDDED !!!!

Dman, how comes. The belt kit was done 5k km ago, donor car was running fine.

I did not removed any pulley, BUT the crank to add what !?!?! A anti-belt-crankshaft-eater ! best 20 $ ever.

Now, I'm very confuse about the reason why. Low mileage engine, no oil leak , OFHG is bone dry.

fir sure, there was a ton of belt pieces around the alternator pulley, and I saw only 1 string around the crank.

I will remove the crank pulley anyway to be sure, but the car run fine.

Ill get a new kit from FCP.

Now, looking on forums, it seems very common, yes some reported the OFGH leaking, but some didn't know why, like me...

project cars !

still happy, it's getting a custom exhaust right now . 1-2-1, single exit, single turbo. With HFC> vibrant resonator > valved muffler

Have done quite a few things since realizing the Bimmerpost app was down and never checking if it was back up. Touched up and Installed a precut ppf from invisiblemask on the front bumper since the bad paint job chips very easily I’d rather protect it than deal with repainting and getting a worse match.

Now these precut kits get a bad rep but I think 99% of the issues are lack of skill of the person installing. I started with the largest piece (obviously dumb) and struggled for a few hours with all the parts of the bumper and some didn’t come out perfect and I didn’t know how to even properly stretch things. But all in all it came out good enough for me, solid 3-4 footer I’d say easily. Just got a tiny bubble here or there but hasn’t chipped in about 1000 miles and no peeling either.

I think it's the water pump ground. Those are problematic on N55 engines:

BTW, where did you get the guard for $20? I see them going for around $50.
I have a fleet that needs them!
