I'm thinking that i had read that Jarek needs to flash back to OEM first. Seems i recall that the flash back is better if in my car when this occurs. First reason to have car in his shop.

Second reason is for him to do the SCR/DEF delete complete with proper disconnection of any connectors, pull fuses, what ever it is that he does. Now, if he can provide DIY process to to that, I will retract 2nd reason and see if flash back to OEM is necessary while plugged in car.

Yes, I have thought about icy roads with Michelin PSS. I don't need winter tires down here 5 miles from Galveston bay. Mail in of DDE would definitely be way to go as long as i can really be done with DEF tank needing to be fed. I am determined to find a way to install lower trunk compartment where DEF tank currently sits. Want to put compact spare there.

Nothing needs to be disconnected, pulled apart, etc for Jarek's tune. He has the SCR/DEF shut down completely in the programming....

You are correct but I have seen him pull the fuses out.

We are generally good folks up in the great white north and would come out to visit . Is that reason #3???

iaknown, hope Jarek got you all sorted out finally. Are you finally where you want to be?

GottaB, of course I would like to meet you all up there. Previous posts say the road trip isn't needed. I will start looking at what 328i or 335i parts could be used for the undertrunk compartment. I could weld up my own box or use pop rivits but highly prefer it too look OEMish. I will go look at a used 328i at car lot (if they will let me).

I thought 328s come with RFTs as well and have only a small cubby under the trunk floor. May have to poke around a 5er. I'm interested in this as well, but have not done any research until I pull the tank. Just need to deal with making sure it's tuned out.

Put me in the "no codes" camp too. My Quaife has been on for a week now without a single code.

Yea, I am now proud to be a JR Auto customer I will try to keep this as professional as possible......I had a few issues with the previous tune. I am not sure what tune I was given but it had problems. After hours upon hours of diagnosis and ruling things out, the finger kept being pointed at my car instead of the tune (much like the SCR and EGR issues we have seen). I knew what the real problem was. So I went with JR Auto instead for a retune and wow, what a difference. My car is a beast now. First time out I had zero issues with additional codes like with my previous tune. It just worked and overall driveability and power of the car are just amazing.

I only have one issue related to max boost range being exceeded and we have finally narrowed that down to the straight exhaust I am running. That is the only difference between me and everyone else. The tune is doing what it should and opening the wastegate all the way, but the wastegate just isn't big enough on these cars. So I have a plan in place to solve that this week . After I get it resolved I will be posting a very positive review on JR's thread about his tune. I had been reluctant to share this for various reasons but a few of you have asked now

Yea Axle, I thought your EGR is still operating, and you're making less power even with your intercooler and scoops?

I must admit the car runs great w the ic as i really need it here in the island a couple of days ago it 97 and today it today its 70 cause its rained so much. As far as the scoops i cant say how many hp it gives i never dynoed it but it can be noticed after instalation at 70 mph and step on it the car feels better response as before without the scoops

Thanks for the info, iaknown. All of this with the Ecotune pipe still in place, right? I'm thinking of following you and jess north of the border but will keep the Ecotune pipe on. No exhaust leak at forward flange.
