Ya I think so. I still got connects at BMW so I might just be able to have it done on the cheap...or even just have that corner sprayed up and blended. Really doesnt matter to me, as long as their is no damage when I return the car in a year.

I know Kelvin (E90fanatic) is working today too. Technically I should be too, but we didnt have the right sized studs on the engine I was working on yesterday..so without those I cant fit the intake manifolds on (read: drool)
Exhaust header is on already (no heat exchangers..yaaa), and the fan shroud is all fit and ready..but nothing else I can do yet. |

its going to be a really nice engine..but its nothing crazy though..nothing is like stupid sandblasted or powdercoated...just cleaned up in the parts washer, some scotch brite, etc. Shes a working engine, not a concours winner. Shes made to lay down like 600 something...at least thats what we are shooting for. No idea what the boss has in for turbo size yet though..

some k24's can get you to 600 no prob, hopefully the 996tt i pick up is an x50, so it already has the k24's and gt2 intercoolers, and i can prettymuch just load up the software and the supporting parts and be there..if that doesnt get me ill take the k24's out and build them into k24/18g hybrids..

plus the clutches get tricky on the 700kits, they cant really hold the power that well, i heard tilton just came out with a new clutch for it nd is suppose to be real nice, its a triple carbon but is also like 4k too, so it is pricey

well this is a 930 case engine, so just one large single unit is going on, with a really nice pair of B+B headers.
Probably somewhere in a K29-K30 hybrid range I think. Boss runs a Turbonetics T76 on his car, makes well over 700hp. A lot of people in the Club Racing are just using new Cup Cars to make up for lack of driving skill to stay ahead. It takes some real effort to drive a 79 turbo that is caged out with 700 something hp behind you and really wide tires....so I guess it feels more satisfying when you just beat that dude out with his 400hp SuperCup who spent like $175k on his car. Usually the older cars cant hang with newer 996 and 997 Cup cars...my boss has proved that wrong on several occaisions lol |
