I went to the dealership today to see what was in the pre-owned lot and new car lot and nothing moved me to buying. I am no longer a fan of the BMW brand.

If I do buy another BMW I believe the 2018-2024 540i xDrive seems like a next buy for me if I get into another BMW.
Not an easy car to part with, especially in a nice spec like yours. IÂ’ve been toying with the idea of selling mine recently. IÂ’ve had seven consecutive months of being in the shop for something, including multiple mistakes that mechanics made and parts warranties. ItÂ’s a headache thatÂ’s becoming exhausting, but IÂ’ve also put so much time, money, and effort into the car that I hate to sell it.

My parents have a 2019 540xi. In my opinion, the g30 is the last elegant and sleek BMW sedan, especially pre-facelift guise. ItÂ’s a solid car and drives nicely, but certainly not like the E90 or my E39 530. IÂ’m obviously a fan of the NA I6 and old-school dynamics. If I wanted something newer/more dependable, I might be willing to sacrifice the analog experience and get a 540. TheyÂ’re comfortable, luxurious, handsome, handle respectably, and FAST.

Probably would be 100% with a manual bezel but this is free and looks much better

Took apart CIC controller and cleaned the buttons. And released the shifter wiring from its tight stock routing to prevent future issues.
I still want to do that to both of mine.

Did you print that bezel? Do you have a file? I thought I had one a while ago.

I always found it odd that most were specs with base seats.

For some reason I find that LCI models are stripped down more than PRE. Mine was fairly base, but randomly had the upgraded L7.

There was a video from HOOVIE / EuroAsian who had a 335D with 330k miles.

Bought a bumper off marketplace for $35. I didn't realize it had washer holes, but I will shave them.

Current bumper has holes, has been shoddy repaired and bondo'd. It'll be nice to put that on when I do the headlights as well.

Costmetic wise, I wanted to keep this a little "Rough". It's not like I don't care about the car, its just nice to have something not "Perfect" so i do not have to worry as much about it.

Still want to find:

Chrome window trim
Possible rear bumper (Similar repaired and small boo boo)
hood - dented beyond "Repair". Oddly looks ok from 10 ft though.

The interior is super minty though. I just got my water pump in on saturday, so I will do that and hoses today or tomorrow.

Posted a thread (https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2160495) about this, but pulled codes when I reset the oil change & inspection intervals. This N55 is driving me slightly batty. Also changed out the original upper expansion tank hose. The rubber had shrunk to the point it would no longer fit in the two catches atop the radiator. Eeek! Was only a matter of time before it failed.

For the E46, ordered radio removal tools (to get to the evaporator temp sensor), a compatible K-line OBD cable (since my E90 cable is DCAN only), and a passenger window switch assembly for it. Will do the battery cage when it warms up. It's also getting new power steering lines & reservoir too.

I just bought it from some dude parting out an e90. It was done really bad on his car. In theory all you need is a manual boot that’s meant to work on an auto shifter and a manual shifter bezel. Although you can cut an auto one up but it’s very tedious. The shifter is a bmw performance one but it’s aftermarket. It was difficult to get to perfectly fit, lot of small modifications. If you can get an OEM one should be a lot easier

The bezel is just an automatic one the previous guy that had it cut out the center from. It was straight garbage when I got it so I cut it as close to the edge as possible, but then it easily cracks, so had to do a couple of repairs and now fits well. Id just get a manual one if possible. I doubt you can 3D print one that fits as well as you want as is as strong

Replacing the oil pressure switch as it’s leaking oil and wicking down the wiring loom. Replacing the connector, too.

Recommend everyone check their pressure switch (on the oil filter housing) as apparently it can wick down the DME harness and short out the DME…

Pressure switch replacement completed. You'll need a 24mm wrench or socket (deep well) for the job. I didn't have one and the only socket available from Harbor Freight (good in a pinch) is an impact one. Turns out it didn't fit my ratchet or torque wrench. Helped with getting the new one on though. Replaced the harness connector as it was soaked in oil.

$70 from the dealer ($50 for the sensor, $20 for the connector and metal pins, latter of which I did not need).

You can open up the split loom using a small screwdriver. Highly recommend this as the oil had wicked quite a way down the harness.

Torque spec is 20nm. I used the tried and true gutentight® method. The new connector is blue plastic and has much more robust weatherproofing.

I was going to say the same thing. Mine was pretty saturated and I cleaned up a bunch of stuff. Oil pan gasket is probably necessary as well.

Didn't do this today per say but I closed up my headlights and put them back on the car. They look like a more modern version of the OEM headlights which is what I set out to achieve.

Ignore the destroyed bumper, I have a euro one ready to go on once my euro crash bar gets here.

What did you do to them? What rings are those? I replaced projectors and lenses not too long ago but need to open them up again to align the projectors better (they're rotated slightly in different directions) and do some trimming so I can re-enable the adaptive function. But I figure if I'm doing that again I want to upgrade the rings to something nicer and cleaner.

Here's a list of what I did:

1. New AL Lens Covers from bimmerjakes.
2. New wiring harness that goes inside the headlights since my old ones were disintegrating. Bought these from Aliexpress, surprisingly good quality.
3. I installed Hella G5 BRT projectors. I did the trimming that you mentioned to keep the adaptive function working. There's a LOT of trimming needed in my experience and it's a lot of trial and error. Same with aligning the projectors and making sure their rotation is good.
4. I bought parts headlights to get the updated revision for the arm that holds the projector bracket. My old one was falling apart and they updated the plastic to a material that doesn't fall apart, so I wanted to do that while I was in there.
5. For the angel eyes I got opaque ones from the Angel Eye Guy that come with 3d printed mounting brackets. This made the installation very trivial.

I think that's about everything I did, I did some other random things like replace the xenon bulbs with OSRAM Nightbreakers and replaced the turn signal bulbs while I was in there, but I can't think of anything else.

18 Inch wheels on BMW e90

Hello everyone
Just a new member and I don't know if I am posting in the correct thread
I am planning to buy an 18" wheels for my 2010 e90 330i instead of the 225/45R17 original ones. I found the M style wheels for sale in the image below (original BMW rims following to the seller).

Actually I will just buy the rims without the tires, but I didn't succeed to find on the net the relative style number to make sure about the fittment possibility on my stock car.
If anybody can help me with the correct style number I would be grateful.

I recently changed the manual transmission fluid. Piece of cake with the drain and fill plugs in easy to access locations. Pumping in the new fluid was the only annoying part. Still need to do the rear diff. I don't have a pump to remove the old fluid. Was it really so difficult to include a drain plug BMW? Really?

It was nice to see my oil pan gasket change worked. The bottom of the engine was completely free of oil, zero drops on the undercar shield.
