Being that there are many out there running tunes now without the wastegate enlarged and without issues I would agree its not necessary. Our turbos seem to be able to take much more abuse than we originally thought.

So would you say porting puts less stress on the turbo then? I have all of the reamers already, was a bit intimidated by the whole process though...

How the heck do you remove the qty of 4 E12 torx from the passenger engine mount. I can only access one of them and the others have taken too much time to even reach in there. Does anyone have a good link for that process?!

I got it from the top, just put the socket on an extension and feel around until you're on the bolt. The socket with extension will fit in that trough under the DPF unless you've already loosened the Vband clamp. Takes some patience for sure!

I've had to pull the bracket 2 different times. First time was definitely a learning experience. I used the telescopic mirror tool from underneath to get it lined up. Second time was quite a bit easier as the down pipe was on then so lots more room. I've always done the work on jack stands in my garage. A fresh perspective tomorrow and you'll get the others off quickly. Good luck.

![]() ![]() Rolling and cuda you guys are absolutely right. I am always a firm believer that sometimes you need to just walk away and try at it another day. Come back with a fresh and clear mind just makes it work. But I will say this. I am totally going to replace the Estar bolts with standard hexagonal head style bolts for future removal with a socket. |

If you have a set of female torx sockets it's fairly easy to do these. You may wish to rethink replacing these bolts as they need to be to spec.

Oh I already had them in my tool box. That's how I was able to remove the 4 bolts from the engine mount. I was just thinking of replacing them with regular bolts. But I axed that idea. I ended up reading them and my God was it 10 million times quicker putting them back on. Almost done installing my exhaust. Just need to finish my walnut blasting and trans flush and I'm ready to enjoy the extra power and amazing turbo whistle!
