Really? I can't say I have that problem or others that I have talked to. Is your suspension stock? If anything my car feels more planted above 80.

I mention VBOX verified 60-130 as it's used more often to compare power/weight vs. 0-60 which is EXTREMELY traction & launch dependent aka spin off the line or bog etc. 0-60 is for magazines imo.

Yeah stock sport suspension with 128xxx miles on it. That could be it though. It's pretty frightening letting off the gas at that speed and feeling that hah

I gotta say this thread is such a tease. Here we are with a supercharger and headers which, up unto about a month ago, didn't play well together and now they're making about 100 more wheel horsepower which is fantastic but I want more LOL!

I gotta start selling more at work

My '07 328/330i feels a bit light over 90 mph ... but only when I'm going WOT. If cruising in traffic (typically 80+ mph) and I throw it into "sport" ... I can be doing 100+ mph and it feels as planted as 75 mph, as long as I'm not WOT.

I have an auto trans, stock suspension (non-sport) 16" square RFT set-up.

By the way, what sort of oil temperature is best for a force induction N52?

I just got myself a 335i OEM oil cooler free from a friend, I will be installing it later but since the running oil temp is typically higher on N54/55 with a thermostat operates at 120 degree, should I get a low temperature thermostat that operates at, say, 90~100 degree? Any disadvantage in that?

Great jobs guys, new those headers could work! Just needed someone with the dedication to do this and to make it right, live the met idea also!

I think that's for me Bob . The Turbosmart BOV controller turned up today, just need to order a new intercooler and replace some of the silicon boost pipes for hard pipes and we can get it running to its full potential . I will have to start a thread for others to follow.

For anyone interested currently have a BMW E81 130i (3 door hatchback) with Rotrex supercharger running about 6 to 7psi, intercooler, Forge bypass valve, oil catch can, decatted headers, Supersprint 200 cell sports cats downstream of headers, full Supersprint deresonated mid section and backbox. The current set up has been running between 370 and 320 crank horsepower on a very conservative DynoDynamics dyno but I have had slight idle instability and high hydrocarbon emissions (won't pass local targets).

Going to add the BPC injectors, BPC MAP sensor, BPC alpha N tune, upgrade to a Forge intercooler, Turbosmart bypass valve controller, hard pipes etc and drop to pulley to get about 10psi...then see what the car makes with Bob's magic

Great to know!
Just wonder when you say you use Supersprint 200 cell sports cats, did you use your OEM header and mod that or you go for a custom decat header and add the sport cat in mid section?

Also, are you upgrading the stock internal (rod and piston) or is everything stock still?

Thanks!

I'm using a set of ceramic coated Arma headers as they are the only RHD headers I could find. Nicely made but doubt they add much power in NA form. I was worried that when the engine was SC'd that the heat would kill the OEM cats in the headers. The Supersprint headers are in the mid section.

No not planning on upgrading the internals. From what the turbo'd BPC car is running on stock internals with a lot more torque I am not overly concerned. If it does go pop rebuild and improve

Nice! I should pick orders to the east coast after I get back from deployment so I can drop my car off! I'm really excited about these latest developments!
Or just take 2 weeks of leave and go there? What branch? Where are you deploying/deployed to?
Crossing the Pacific towards to Sandbox.

Does Rotex make a kit for the n52, or is something your built? Since your running a conservative boost,do you feel you need an inter cooler? I see a lot of supercharger cars that run without one, as a centrifical pushes cooler air. Sounds like a nice set up.

It was originally an Arma kit but there is very little of the original kit left...just the Rotrex supercharger, oil cooler, supercharger mounting bracket and some of the hard boost pipes.

I am still upgrading parts, with work and other commitments it is taking a fair bit of time. I am hoping to run at 10psi so I think the IC is required especially with the Rotrex turbine. I would rather do everything right first time so I get full power available and longevity of the engine etc.

Wow, I read about that kit, didn't there test car run against a 535? I heard there was issues with supercharger, among the astronomical price.
