I have a second home near Sacramento that I visit often so it is very simple to pick up the car in Sac or the Bay Area. The only other fees for all were a < $50 doc fee. I do not mind paying the $275, though I am not sure I want someone else to drive the car.
Interesting that they say "you can't drive it and have to get it delivered." May have something to do with collecting the CA Sales Tax and registering the car; no idea.

I don't think they'll drive it to you. More likely put it on a flatbed and truck it to Reno.

Well good luck.

NEVER EVER EVER buy a car where the dealership won't allow you to pick it up. That's insane.

This is $39,470 vs $40,950 I would love to buy from my local dealer but for $1700 more and the “go find it cheaper can then come back to us BS” I cannot.
remember you still need to pay for sales tax when u register your car in NV.

Yes! Where did you go? Mine was $44870 out the door, minus Sat radio and Sunshade, but I see you got non-metallic paint. So it's probably a little better than I did.

Put my 500 down, let me know what you think

Finally going to post on this forum. After a month of research and waiting for the IS350, I decided the BMW was the only way to go. Let me know what you think of my deal.

330i, SG, PP, SP, CA, Nav/Idrive, Heated Seats, Sat Radio, Carp. floor Mats

MSRP 45290
Price paid 42665 (plus sales tax 6%MI, plate fees 203, security deposit 700 and assignment fee 625)

This is for a three year lease 12000/yr (redidual 63%, Money factor .00225)

2625 off MSRP or 1230 over invoice compared to edmunds

Please let me know if this sounds like a good deal

i live in Corte Madera (northbay Marin) and tax just went up to 7.75 from 7.25 about 4 months ago. Remember this! when you go to buy your car, if your tax is cheaper in the county you live in than the county you're buying the car from you can get it for the rate of the county you live in by law! they did this with my honda, i bought it from Daly City where tax is/was 8.25% but because i live in Marin county they adjusted the tax to 7.25% at the time.

Assignment fee is charged on all leases. I believe it is the fee that the financial institution charges to process the lease. It also covers such things as gap ins, etc. The fee usually cost 500-750 so 625 seemed resonable. Tax is tax what can you do. So does my deal sound good. Last car I bought was a Saab and I was used to pretty large discounts and most people I talked to stated that BMW never really discounted. I was in no hurry so I just asked for 2500 off plus free floor mats, let them know I knew what BMW financial was offering on there lease incentives and they said ok. I gave them 500.00 bucks and my new BMW is on order. I should see it by the end of the year.

Exactly, but it doesn't work the other way around. They charge the rate that you live-in if it's higher.

How did you get $500 (or less) above invoice?

All the dealers in Texas are very inflexible on price. They simply don't want to go much off $1k off sticker. With much haggling, I've found one (BMW Austin) that will go $2k above invoice.

What is your secret to getting $500 above invoice? Are you guys taking cars that are in stock that have some kind of weird set of options?

But seriously, how do you do it? I even tried to poll CA dealers. And BMW of Mountain View, for instance, only gave me $1200 over invoice. Other posts have said $500 above invoice for that dealership.

It certainly might be the location you're in, but for me what worked best (and got me a car at $650 over invoice) was faxing quote requests to every dealer where I live (NJ). I noted on the paperwork the MSRP and invoice cost for each component and said that I would be willing to travel (not too hard in a small state like NJ) and that I would be willing to place a factory order.

I think placing a factory order helps a lot since the dealer doesn't have to pay the interest fees associated with that car sitting on its lot until its sold. The day it arrives I'll be taking it off the lot for them.

$650 over invoice

Which dealership, nostrum09, did you get your deal?

I've emailed every dealer in TX and the best I could get was $1k off sticker. I emailed a few in CA (like BMW of mountain view, fremont, pacific bmw) and got $1200-1400 over invoice, whether I took something in stock or whether I did an order.

I'm hoping to get your price and have it delivered to my local dealer (or at least one within driving distance). That can be done for no extra charge if it's an order. It's called courtesy delivery. The catch is that most dealers don't want to do it. So I'm guessing I'll have to pay $$$ for the privilege of picking up a car at a TX dealer.

I had my dealer order my 330 I in early Aug for early Nov.Delivery. ( and to save the Sept. 1st price increase ) Figure approx $ 1400 off sticker.

Don't believe the $500-$1000 above sticker stories ! or $3000 off sticker, is fiction !

Remember, they gotta eat too !

Should have mine in 2 weeks.

If you bought your bmw for $500-750 over invoice, which dealer?

For the rest of us, we're getting taken for a ride by our local greedy dealer. Help us out and let us know where you got your great deal!

Also, please say if you got a great deal b/c you got some kind of funny options or something in stock or was it an order. Thanks!
