Yes. But you can't get it from the dealership.

After reading this thread I think I can summarize that at the moment there's a couple of 325 implementations, but no attempts to apply this to 328 yet.

please correct me if im wrong, but from what ive read and i have not studied any of this material by any means. if you dont get the engine tuning this intake manifold does not yield much or barely any improvement. i believe it was a little torque increase and no power. there are only about three shops i would trust for that type of thing.

You actually lose midrange. The car might actually be slower than stock without a tune.

so anybody that has put this 3 stage manifold on their car, which wire goes where, I have the 2 wires that are on the side of the old 1 stage intake manifold and need to know which actuator to plug them into the 3 stage intake manifold.
basically which wire goes into the high speed actuator and which wire goes into the low speed actuator. thanks guys. |

Bump since it seems there is renewed interest by some of the new comers that haven't seen this yet.

hey guys brand new to the forum hence the late post . Let me just start by saying this thread is a godsend i've been dreaming about this mod since i got my 325 a few years ago but was always told it was TABOO!! Glad to hear some success stories and since my warranties up i think its worth giving it a shot. Does anyone who has completed this mod on a 325 (manifold swap + tune) have any updates on their success?! thanks

Man revisiting thread makes me want to do this but it seems like no one tried it on a 328i. If anyone has connection on where to get the manifold used please post it on here. I found a 2005 manifold for a decent price. Will a 2005 330i manifold work? I actually might pull this off....finally grew some balls!! lol

Huge fallout in this thread after July 2010.
I was on the edge of my seat up until about the last 2 pages. Interested in further discoveries. I'll have to read e90pilot's thread. I'll be doing the manifold swap for sure sometime soon, and I'll wait out on some of the tuning options. How's the AA tune e90pilot? As for badging - I'm gonna change from 325i to 325si |

There is a pretty dramatic change for me with only the manifold done at this point. There is definitely some loss of power between 2-3K... But the car now screams going past 3K... The actuator changes are actually very noticeable. Right at 3K there is a change, and another very noticeable one at 4300 RPM.
So far it's been a week in with no problems. I'd like to jump on the AA tune sometime next week. I don't know if it was the battery reset or not, but the delivery of power seems a lot smoother now. |

The tune's been working great. There a some small issues but I think they can be worked out easily. +30Hp and +40tq is pretty nice. I was looking at the dyno and I think there's a little more peak power available. We'll see. I've got a new job and schedule is brutal so I don't really have any time to do anything.
