No wastegate rattle at all I just hear the turbos spool and I don't mind that sound at all. When I did the install I triple checked for clearance and I don't hear any metal to metal rub, but I'll still go check everything again. The slight rumble/vibration is only at idle and it isn't a misfire or fuel related issue.

If it's only at idle, it may not be the pipes touching. Normally if the pipes touch, it's heard when taking turns (chassis flex & engine movement).

I think its just from the dps adding better flow to my vehicle. I'm not worried at all its the same noise my turbo m3 has and supercharged m-roadster has similar to a performance v8. Anyone looking to add performance get VRSF downpipes they have perfect fitment and the weld quality is supurb.

It may be hitting the heat shield. The fitment is very snug. The tech bent my heatshield out the way to provent this.

Hey everyone,

Downpipes are a mod that I have been wanting to do for a while now. I went ahead and ordered the new VRSF 3" Downpipes after reading good reviews about them from others on here. Here is my review.

Price: Got them for $385.00 shipped from Tiago@VRSF. Need I say more? I won't get into the debate about paying $800 for AR downpipes.

Quality: Package arrived well packaged. The pipes are very nice with very nice quality welds and clean bends. The inside is not as smooth as AR's but are acceptable and pretty good. Also came with nice gaskets and all hardware.

Fitment: Great! I got my DP's installed today by Adam (member "Clem" here on e90post). He is pretty much the "Go To" guy for anyone in the Maryland, DC, and Virginia area. He has done DP installs on about 25+ N54 cars here in the area... everything from AR, Riss Racing, Macht Snell, Raceland, and now VRSF. From his view, everything fit well and there were no issues. Although space was tight up there, nothing was touching each other.

Sound & Power: I have an OEM exhaust still. But with the added DP's, it's only a little bit louder. It's nice that I can also hear the turbo's spool a little better when the music is muted. I've only driven about 30 miles after the install but I can definitely feel quicker spool. I think the car is still getting used to the new downpipes. Hopefully tomorrow, I will feel it even more after the car gets used to it.

Anything you would change / don't like about them? The downpipe's overall are great for the money. However, I measured the end that bolts up to the stock exhaust and it tapers down to 2.25" and NOT 2.5" (see picture with measurements). However, I don't anticipate any significant decrease in power (or any loss at all).

Would I recommend this product to anyone with an N54? Yes.

1. Box Shot: Fast Shipping and nicely packaged

2.

3.

4.

5. The end of the pipe slims down so that it can bolt up to the stock exhaust. The length is 1.5"

6.

7. Stock DP's vs VRSF DP's. The VRSF DP's are definitely pretty! Too bad we can't see them underneath the car!

8. Stock DP's vs VRSF DP's

9. Let's get these babies installed!!

10. Installed. No fitment issues. Barely any space but it clears everything about 1/8th of an inch.

11.

12. O2 Sensors: They do NOT touch!

13. This is the end that clamps down to the turbo. As you can see, it is 3"

14. This is the end that bolts up to the OEM exhaust. This is the only negative I have about these DP's. They should taper down to 2.5" but from my measurements they taper down to about 2.25"

Thanks for taking the time to read my review. I will also have pics of the inside coming up as well. And maybe even a sound clip which I will upload to YouTube.
Is the guy you mentioned still helping around tri-state area with the installation of VRSF down pipes?

Hi I'm sorry if this has been asked and I must be missing something but what is the difference between your part numbers N54EX100 and N54EX125

I have a 08 E92 so looking for whatever would match with that.

Thanks!

Question: Have these DPs undergone any design revisions at all? Or has the hardware been changed since they were launched. I've heard some issues with the nuts/bolts.

Thanks.

These Downpipes are no joke! Just installed mine this weekend, they fit absolutely perfect. I can definitely hear my wastegate rattle a lot more. I will probably just wrap my downpipes this week to muffle the sound until I can tighten my actuator arm.

Overall very happy with VRSF!! Car pulls like a train!

I ordered my DP's on Thursday morning and they were delivered on Friday morning. The welds on the DP's are nice. I will install soon can't wait.

Do you guys recommend getting the high temp coated option? Or the o2 simulator?

Only running JB4 and DCI at the moment. FBO is as far as I plan on taking it.

I'm leaning toward VRSF DPs, but a couple of questions for Tiago:
1. How have the welds held up over time based on customer feedback? I had a bad experience on my past Volvo S70 T5, where one of the welds cracked (company that made the DP was CX Racing.)
2. Are the BMS and VRSF DP fixes essentially the same?

We have sold thousands of exhaust products and hundreds of these downpipes and we have yet to receive a warranty claim where the welds fail on any product in the 8 years we have been in business.

We offer a lifetime warranty because we are confident in the quality of our products

Great, thanks Tiago. Do you have any distributors in Canada or do I just order directly from the website?

Hello,

I'm new to the BMW world, but I just wanted to post up my experience with VRSF.

I ordered my DPs and DCI late last week, and everything was delivered today. We had a few complications with parts, (I received the wrong DCI kit the first time) but Tiago was extremely helpful and took care of everything in a timely fashion.

I was quite impressed with the fitment of the DPs. I'm not mechanically inclined by any means, and this was probably more of a job than I should have tackled, but with time I was able to get everything figured out... it took me about 8 hours to install.

The pipes looked good, welds looked good, and all the pieces bolted up nicely. There is no rubbing between the two pipes or against the vehicle.

As far as the DCI, it's pretty self explanatory. Easy install and adds that unique "air sucking" noise under the hood, and I can finally hear my Turbos!

+1 to Tiago @ VRSF for his customer service and excellent parts. Now all i'm waiting on is my Charge Pipe and BOV.

I hope this helps any future DIYers.
