BMWNA has a paid apprenticeship called STEP. Service Technician Education Program. Its 8mos and upon completion you are factory certified. This mean you can work at the port, or factory. Mostly it qualifies for warranty work at a dealership. They have 24 techs per year qualified. 8 techs each in CA, SC, and NJ. This is collision/refinish training. I was hired in NJ for '08 class. So '08(yr)NJ(location)STEP(program). BAM! The last group in Montvale before the new facility in Franklin Lakes. An incredible life experience. Plus I got to work on a McLaren F1.
