Exceptional addition to this thread. The amount of data and statics shown here is quantifiably prodigious.
I am incredibly greatful you bumped this thread, which caused an email to be dispatched to my email address in great haste placing me under one hundred percent certainty, that perhaps Jake at motiv has released a beta.

Yes, it works, It's nothing like the actual PPK that N55 has, but I get nice gurgles and pops, and if you give it slight throttle you get VERY nice gurgles and pops. It allows more exhaust noise to go directly out the exhaust instead of through the turbo by keeping the wastegate open wider when decelerating.

Jakes solution should not have any compromise.
Yes, you get lag with this for sure, similar to BMWs update 29.2. I don't mind it really, and when I want to speed around and don't mind losing the gurgles and having rattles, I do the 1 min tune update and go have some fun!

95% of the time I'm just driving normal, so I leave the gurggles/rattle fix on so it can sound nice with gurgles and pops and not sound like i just got married and dragging empty cans underneath my car.

Everything's a compromise, Jakes solution is going to send extra fuel into the exhaust, then ignite it. This is obviously not a performance gaining modification, so both are compromises to efficiency/power. I'm ok with that though due to like I said before, 95% of the time I'm just driving around regular and would like it to sound better/less annoying rather than be able to instantly autocross the public roads.

My solution is not a compromise. It's 100% exactly the same way BMW does it in the PPK tune for N55.

Jake's solution works perfectly, and is in every way as well-integrated as is possible short of having BMWAG do it themselves.

My car is down for completely unrelated reasons (DME is not installed so it won't start), otherwise i'd have videos for you all. If you guys are cranky at anyone, you should direct it towards me for not getting good video of it prior to my car being off the road.

Insane how ungrateful some are around here. He's done nothing but help push this platform forwards.

How do we check to make sure we DON'T have that update on our cars?

Oh, okay, that's pretty cool. I didn't realize this added horsepower/torque, I thought it just changed timing to allow more unburnt fuel to ignite in the exhaust.
And what I mean by "everything is a compromise" is that it's silly to point out how this and that is a compromise to something. Because MHD gives me more HP as a compromise to MPG. E85 gives me cooler temps and increased HP as a compromise to MPG as well. Hence - everything is a compromise, but it's certainly not a bad thing. PPK will give you a cool sounding car as a compromise to pissing off my neighbors when I come home late at night (worth it)

Seems like most are very grateful. Just because someone states they are making a hypothetical product, doesn't mean others don't have the right to question it, talk about it, point out flaws/benefits, or bring up similarities and differences to other products. This thread itself is titled as a "comparison" between two platforms.

Apparently you can't, and that can only be done by BMW. However, if you have MHD installed, it overwrites this update with their own way of controlling the WG. (Hence why you can adjust the amount of fix you want, with "80%" on the bar being about equal to what BMW's 29.2 was set at)

I don't see much ungratefulness in this thread. We spent the last page or so arguing about how to best reward Jake for his efforts lol and praising him for all the things he's brought to us.

I didn't mean the back and forth over the last page; was more just a broad statement. Every time someone comes forth with genuine platform development, it's met with anger and suspicion if it's not made immediately free to everyone. Folks like Chris and Jake take their time to do it right, and people jump on them.

I apologize if it came off as accusatory.

As I stated previously, i'm offering up my car as the guinea pig for the video. It has Catless DP and and no resonators or mufflers just straight pipe all the way back. I will also be tracking my car on the 25th of this month so if Jake would like to get in contact with me I'd be more than happy to do some data analysis as well. Hoping to see this released soon! Thank you Jake for moving this platform forward!

For WHATEVER reason, Jake doesn't seem interested.
I sent him a PM.
I sent donation.
I sent him an email@motiv.
I'm this close to sending a midget with a telegram.

I can't get him to reply to me at all.
Fuck my life and these first world problems.

It's frustrating. I'm with you. It seems 3000gt and pats actually know Jake. Maybe that's what we need to do. Fly up and buy him a beer.

I guess being an asshole is easy then right. He said a flash time checkbox option I'm not on mhd yet so I'm not familiar with how it works. Plus he said he wanted people to donate to keep "costs" low for when he does add it so I was looking for a little bit more clarification moron.
