No problem! I'm still playing with bitrates and other factors to see if it makes any difference to the bugs. I'll report back if I find anything. In the meantime, I'm loving my music collection all over again!

Hi, I read all this thread and I have a few questions.

I have e90, year 2006. I have professional radio with basic audio system (only 6 speakers, nothing else) and I don't have iDrive.

1. Is this device for my car right?

2. On radio connector is PIN 10 remote for OEM amp, can I use this wire (PIN 10) as +12V for mr12volt device? Or it must be connected on permanent +12V?

No need for permanent power source, switched is perfectly fine. It's ready in a second or two.

I use the CD changer fuse space with and add a fuse adapter.

I don't have CD changer in my car. Where is location of fuse in fuse box? Do you have photo of it and how many Ampers have fuse that you use?

It wouldn't be advisable to use the remote wire for your amp. That line will not be able to handle any current. It's just a line to carry an on/off signal. Best to use a fused 12V power wire.

No the cd changer is switched with the sleeping of the car that is why you use it and if you think about it the box does the same thing it supply's music files from various sources. If you go back to the beginning of this thread there are bunch of install options described.


I have had it in for years and I seen the power switch on and off with the car doors being opened and I am not having any battery drain problems.
over 5 . I did not bother routing in the Most Bus from as the TCU was the only thing I had in it and it going bad was the final motivation to change it out.

It makes no difference what the voltage on that remote line is. It is not designed to handle the current that an external device draws. If you draw too much current out of that remote signal (especially if it's accidentally shorted to ground) you'll blow that control signal inside the radio head-unit and it'll never work again. Do not use it. Look for a dedicated, fused, 12V POWER wire instead, like the CD changer fuse socket, as ctuna recommended.
