It'll bring you near by but you're going to be so frustrated between Leyburn and Ribbledale, especially through Hawes. You've heard of one lane towns? Hawes is two way traffic on half a lane of road -- with parking on both sides!

The A65 route isn't too bad unless you get behind the proverbial haytruck or tractor. The drive up over Blubberhouse Moor on the A59 is the same way. If there's even one vehicle in front don't expect to go more than 30 mph. It's only advantage is that it's twisty but you have to ensure you stay on the road. Otherwise it's about 100 feet almost straight down.

Of the two I'd opt for A59/A65. That's how I plan to go.

For those staying Friday night and travelling northbound, I'm probably going to be setting off at midday (hopefully).

This would mean passing Reading (Lars) about an hour later and the Midlands (Will & Matt) another hour after that.

Tone's coming from East London and Carlos (maybe) from Esswah, so they may have to leave a little earlier if we're going to convoy (or stay over in Surrey Thursday night)?

Any thoughts?

Definately should put some thught into the meeting points for those travelling from the various directions.

I guess for us southerners there'll be a group heading up the M5 and the London boys will be be up the M1 and across to the M6 so could group north of Brum.

Looks like Will is heading up Saturday, so I'm not sure if anyone else is passing through the Bristol area and up the M5.

Then we could arrange for the South-West and South-East groups to meet up on the M6 somewhere like Stafford Services.
