Delivery date by production number!!!

I have to agree. I do believe this ordering system is very random. Probably depends on the allocated units per dealer

I placed my order this past Tuesday (3/20) for a 335i Sedan 6MT and today I was told that my vehicle just entered production this morning !!! :rocks: This I got by calling the 1800 customer relations number....posted on the top of this thread I think...

Can't wait

Mmmm, my production number for my e90 335XI starts with 8702xxx

The status is "In Transit"

Would my number be different because of the 335XI or Canada order?

Ordered my 335xi on 3/12 and the car is "Being Transported to Port of Exit" according to the 800# on 3/23. Prod # is 3592***. From what I have read on this site, this is about as fast as I should expect. It is great to know that the car actually exists now! Although it is pretty weird that the 335xi is STILL not mentioned on the BMW website . . . I hope this car is a good one. Having owned a Passat W8 I worry I ordered another odd car that no one else owns or knows how to fix . . . I am rambling.

The ordering is random to us; not to BMW AG!

NEWS FLASH: THE PRODUCTION NUMBERS ARE FOR BOTH BMWs AND MINIs!!!

I am not sure why nobody advised us, poor souls, of this before!

You got lucky with ordering on 3/12 and at the port on 3/23. I amongst many others have waited much longer than that...

Took me a while... Ordered 2/4 went into production 3/12 not too bad but still having to wait for anything sucks

Canada has different production numbers from the U.S.
Disregard all that stuff about production numbers. They are only good to show that you have an order -- that's it. The key things (in decreasing priority are):
1) VIN number - available when being built. Your car is real.
2) Build week - projected week when they hope to build your car. Allows you to figure out roughly when you might get delivery. Can move a bit if production problems.

3598 - Finally in production. Schedule for completion the end of this week. Ordered around 1/28. I think my little ticker in the signature is pretty darn accurate for my guessing at it so long ago!
