Not really a "Newbie" as such have posted a few times but no former introduction. Coming up to 5 years of ownership of my 2011 320d efficient dynamics in sapphire black. Granted that I should have done far more research prior to purchasing it but I'm happy with it after the huge hiccup in the first year of ownership. Had the dreaded timing chain issue after close to a year of ownership. Cost a whopping 5k to put right. After that I thought I'll keep it till it's run into the ground. Since then there has been only one other problem and that was earlier last week. The crank shaft pulley came straight off whilst the missus was driving it. That cost just over £300 in labour and parts to put together. Other than that, there is the usual cost of servicing etc.
What have I modified so far? Well, I've redone the sound system twice now. Cutting a long story short, I now have the Pioneer 80prs as my source unit. Have the JBL GTR 7535 amp. Got rid of the rear speakers. Have Audison underseats, MBQUART components up front and an Alpine Type R 12" sub in the boot. Yes I know the purists would have opted for me to keep the stock head unit and to go for a DSP instead but the headunit was lacking features which were important to me. As far as the inside is concerned, the steering wheel, gear knob and hand brake lever have been changed to the Msport equivalent. I have also opted for for the split armrest which makes a difference on my long commutes. The next thing on my list will be msport seats. They need to be LCI seats. Debating whether to do leather or stick to cloth. That'll probably be in the summer most likely as I don't have a garage to store the seats etc and neither is the weather conducive at present. Other mods I'm considering are changing the wheels, lowering springs and maybe tinting the windows. Not too concerned about the body kit. If you guys have any suggestions let me know. Thanks 👍🏾 |

BMW newbie here!
Owned RenaultSports for the past ~12 years and was quite active in the forum scene. If anyone's interested; https://cliosport.net/threads/nickso...s-blog.606272/ Grabbed myself an LCI 335d from a friend as I'm travelling more for work - and loving it so far (much nicer to see ~50mpg than the 20 odd I was getting!) Dived straight into coding - so I'll probably be asking no end of questions in there! Cheers |

More BMW addiction
So following on from my recent post I bought a Z4MC as an early Christmas present for myself on 21 December!
My E90 will be staying, but my E86 3.0Si is up for sale. Anyway I guess everyone likes a photo, so here it is! Sorry it's dirty, but an M is dirty anyway! |

Hello All
Recently bought a beautiful 2006, 318i M Sport with only 15.5k miles on it. Car was pristine! I love driving it, really smooth and comfortable. Has all the original parts too but I have upgraded the radio so I could get DAB and Bluetooth (kept the original in case I go to sell the car and the buyer wants the original) but having technical issues so wanted to join this forum for support. Not sure about joining the BMW Owners Club, £50 a year, is it worth it? |

I'm a brit living in Krakow, so hopefully I qualify for the UK sub forum! Just bought my first beamer, enjoying it so far. 2006 330d, about to upgrade the navi from the windows 98 look!
Haven't got much else planned for it. Has a rodent deterrent constantly screaming away under the bonnet with no sound isolation pad so suspect the previous owner had a mouse issue. Ordered that, as there seems to be a slight excessive engine noise coming into cabin, my friends e46 330d is quite a but quieter. Possibly will swap the chrome window trim / grills for black and that will be all for cosmetics. Really nice, solid drive, first auto box, mixed feeling about that, I may try the xHP flash on the TCU, and give it a year then may look to revert to a manual, we'll see. |

Hello from Warwickshie
Representing my wife who doesn't do forums....
She's previously owned an E30 and an E46. Shes needs estate / touring / wagons these days so after a 20 year old V40 Volvo & having just passed on our faultless Kia Ceed wagon to daughters boyfriend we have become owners of our latest 'dog transport car' an N43 320i - complete with cold start idle instability, NOx sensor DTC and random speaker static. Very impressed with our 124k mile E90 (minus the above) - great drivers car, now to fix the niggles. |
