Ive switched to the Yoko v105's myself earlier this year and finding the same - softer compound but grip has been excellent in both wet and dry conditions and fairly quiet.

N54 engines have never looked great. But that's a good step in the right direction

Pushing 18 psi now so up from 10 psi we were running

We are going to install a custom N54 waste gate actuator so that we can use the boost controls and other features that are currently disabled with the Motiv tune. After that Vince will take Gary for a week or two to get the tune dialed in properly with the help of Tim the magician lel

By Feb we should have one mean angry car

As shown in pics mate

Have blanket but no room to fit in fact turbo housing is pressed against the hood so really need a power bump to give some clearance. Ill get around to that one day

DP is ceramic coated

Heat is horrendous, have to keep changing out the m3 hood vents because they keep melting

Looking to inconel shielding. They are thinner than blanket and might work in your case.

Wow.

You could ceramic coat the hotside of the turbo and like Cloud said try some of the inconel shielding. Amazed that is all you have melted!

With the turbo blanket you don't think you could close the hood and get it to latch?

If/when you have the DP off you might consider wrapping it as well just to keep heat down and hopefully stop going through m3 vents

Just cut a hole in the hood already lol

Blanket wont fit between the turbo and engine or turbo and wheel well. Both sides have stuff all clearance (see pic). We did a pratice fit while we were doing the install. This was the only time the blanket was on the turbo, trust me we could not get the hood closed, not even close lel

Ceramic coating the turbo housing is a good idea and iv'e already considered cutting a hole in the hood but am trying to maintain a sleeper look

Something like this. http://www.turbosource.com/mobile/Pr...e=TS3-03-04402

Try to find some shop local who does can do this for you since you have to ship the turbine housing to them to have it fitted.
