stage 2 and stage 2+ post 5" VRSF FMIC install (car is now 'FBO')
94 Oct on 93 map https://datazap.me/u/khjelholt/stage-2-4some5 https://datazap.me/u/khjelholt/stage-2-45 also perhaps worth noting before FMIC install car was targeting 14-15lbs (and nearly making) at stage 2 after it's like 12lbs stage 2+ gauge says 16-17 but log says only 15ish |

Hey guys can someone check my logs please I have been chasing down this issue where I'm not meeting boost target in 3rd gear pull on my custom tune and it's been driving me crazy. I have already replaced all vac lines, new boost selenoids, checked the VRSF chargepipe it's on tight. checked the Tial BOV everything is fine there. Anyone else care to chime in on what could it be? I have re tightened all the intercooler connections. I'm about to pull my hair out lol.

my boost target should be 18, I'm running the ER Tial BOV that came with my oil ER chargepipe and it has the plain spring although it is not tapped into the manifold but I plan on getting the BMS BOV Adapter. I haven't messed with the wastegate arm at all afraid to mess it up ha.

Car & Mods: 2007 E90 335i 6AT (113k miles)
JB4 + MHD Pump US BEF BMS DCI VRSF DPs MMP stock location inlets/outlets Stock FMIC and LPFP ~25% E85/91 Oct Walnut blasted 1500 miles ago. NGK 1-step colder plugs and Eldor coils installed about 5,000-6,000 miles ago. Plugs gapped to .022". https://datazap.me/u/zach1328/jb4-mh...log=0&data=1-4 Why does my ignition timing start off so low? I understand 17+psi is a lot of boost for only a 25% E85 mix, but this happens on every single log (Maps 1, 2, and 5) even if I set a 10-12psi boost limit. Timing just completely tanks right before boost reaches target and then some cylinders completely flat-line on shifts. It seems to mostly be cylinder 1 that flat-lines following shifts, but sometimes cylinder 1 is fine and some other random cylinder flat-lines.

As far as I know, no tuning changes are required. Inlets/outlets will just help with quicker spool and holding more boost later in the RPM's. They do also flow a bit more air at an equivalent PSI. As such, the tune simply needs to support the more demanding fuel flow. When I first installed inlets/outlets I was running JB4 only and having some issues with lean AFR's and trims maxing out. I had an O2 sensor issue which I fixed and reset adaptations much to no avail. That lead me to believe I was possibly maxing the fuel flow on the JB4 alone w/ ~25% E85 mix. I then switched to the MHD pump BEF which resolved the lean issues. Don't take this for fact as it is nothing more than a guess, but the issue resolved upon switching to the MHD pump BEF. My assumption is that I ran out of fueling with the JB4 alone. So in my case, a tuning change was required but I think most people opting for inlets/outlets are already running flash or back-end flash tunes. I actually just bumped up to a 40% E85 mix (haven't tested but it's likely E70) and it's now running a bit lean on the low end and trims are close to maxing again. Stock fuel pumps are holding up fine. Likely need to stick to a lower E85 mix, or upgrade my LPFP so I can switch to MHD E85 BEF. Will likely opt for the latter just hesitant right now since I recently put quite a bit of money into the car.

Mods: BMS DCI, VRSF DPs, VRSF FMIC, Fuel-it stage 2 bucketed LPFP, inlets Running custom 91 tune from Ken @ Wedge Relevant maintenance: Index 12 injectors done about 25k miles ago Eldor coils and plugs done about 9k miles ago Walnut blasted 9k miles ago All other major maintenance has been handled Having some weird hesitation issues when I drive. If i'm very light on the throttle, cruising on the highway between 50-80ish MPH, the car will sometimes start "oscillating". On the tach it's barely noticeable but you can definitely feel it sitting in the car. I managed to capture it in a log: https://datazap.me/u/caydenphipps/os...=3-21-22-23-24 Any ideas? |

Yep, what he said - pretty clean. You should pump the log thru - https://download.cnet.com/Virtual-Dy...-75870487.html I would try to find a space you can log after the shift into 4th. That will put some more load on it and should let you know how close you are on timing retards and what happens when you get some heat in the IC. But in .cn I doubt you will have much of that this time of yr.

Hey guys got my flex fuel base tune and did some logs over the past week. Looks like my fuel it stage 2 buckets is dropping pressure at higher ethonal blends causing my hpfp to drop causing my stft to max out causing me afrs to increase. Is this assumption correct? Hopefully someone can answer so I can order a stage 3 lpfp ASAP because with the holidays I doubt my tuner will respond in less than a week.

Id say get your tuner give you a little higher target to prevent the throttle closer and again.. Im not sure how much you might gain goin from the 50 to the 60 - I would watch for max mass air numbers. And try to get a little more in 4th gear.. 5000-6000 is best..

Reset all adaptations through mhd and I could not get the problem to come back, seemed to drive somewhat smoother on the fwy. I have done this before though (after reflashing it resets adaptations) and it always come back eventually. |

I cant offer much. Mind would do it in the 1400-1600 range.. Very frustrating.. its got something to do with exhaust vanos - requested angle vs actual. The throttle plate opening and closing by like +/- 5 degrees coincides with the exhaust vanos timing. But what is the chicken and what is the egg. Prob only bosch can tell you..

Hi guys. I recently purchased an e82 n55 dct and very happy with her. This car is some fun! I did a first datalog with mhd yesterday morning and am Keen to have some of you more experienced chaps take a look and tell me what you think. She is stock. Done 110k kms. No codes showing. 98ron(I think that's out fuel down here in New Zealand). Ambients temp was around 11c.
Many thanks in advance. https://datazap.me/u/blossom/xmas-mo...og=0&data=4-17 Last edited by blossom; 12-25-2019 at 07:27 PM.. |

General question here :
Beside cutting the midpipe and visually checking them, is there a way to check on logs that secondary cats are still in good shape ? ( a bit afraid of their health when running tuned and catless DP for a while) If boost value/vacuum immediately goes to -11.5psi on let off after a pull does mean there is not exhaust restriction ? |
