Ok,

So I was able to successfully program to close windows/sunroof using the FOB and to unlock the doors when i take the key out.

So as a result I was going ahead to program and remove the Legal disclaimer, and add the daylight on/off to the Idrive which both are located in the "CIC" module. So following the same process, i get the below error.

I checked the Edibias.ini file and the path is correct. Does anyone have the SGBD file that I need or where I can find it....What is the SGBD file anyway

Thank you

Ok again. In order to help you more you need to post a shot of the error log found under View .> Error log. That generic message you show doesnt show anything. It could be as simple as you misspelled aktiv as activ.

So you are saying those files are the hot/cold checks and error reporting items? I don't need to code anymore led errors?

Yeah, it seriously needs updating...

I wouldn't have known the Error Report lines of code except for assistance from Grant

Below is the error log file for the error that I have posted on post# 3467

I dont understand why CIC module doesnt work. I was successful for CAS, KOMBI, NFRM, 2JBBF....

I was trying to disable the Idrive disclaimer. So it seems that I need A_CIC.IPO and A_CIC.IPS if I am understanding the error file correctly.....So do i need to update to V43 daten files for the E89.

I did some reading and it seems I have to update 3 files NCSEXPER/SGDAT, DATEN, CFGDAT and EDIBIAS/ECU......Am I on the right track here.....So basically I just copy and paste the folders.........Do I need to update the registry or anything like that?????????

Did anyone run into this issues

Thank you

I downloaded the SP-Daten V43 for e89. So maybe this will help in getting rid of the error I posted above and allow me to access the CIC Module so I can do my modes.

So please someone correct me if I am mis-speaking. I am going to unzip the V43 daten rar file and copy all the files and paste them on top of the current files in the appropriate folders which are currently Edibias/ecu, NCSEXPER/daten, & sgdat, & cfgdat

If I do the above will i need to run any *.bat files or update registry or reboot.

Any suggestion or alternatives are welcome.

Thank you

You're correct except for the ECU folder. In that case you should rename the existing ECU folder ECU-orig and then just copy the V43 ECU folder into EDIABAS. The reason is that some modules seem to require the older ECU folder to be accessed (2JBBF, NFRM, FZD, etc), and if you merge like you're suggesting you won't be able to access those anymore. This way you can access CIC with the new ECU folder and then if you need to switch to the old one, just close NCS and EDIABAS Server (in the taskbar), rename the ECU folder to ECU-V43, rename ECU-orig to ECU, and next time you launch NCS it will use those files instead.

Using EDIABAS 7.2 seems to resolve the ECU folder swapping though, so if you're running that then you can go ahead and merge as recommended, because in that case you should be able to access all modules using the same updated ECU folder.

You also don't need the CFGDat folder, and that's correct you won't need to run any batch files.

Thank you again jphughan.......I am running Edibias ver 6.4.7. I will look for ver 7.2 since that will resolve the issue of swapping.

And I will do what you mentioned and give it a shot tomorrow

If you find it, go into its BIN folder and open up EDIABAS.INI in Notepad. Make sure to change the Trace path from P:\whatever it is to C:\EDIABAS\TRACE (you'll find that option in the first few lines of the file). I didn't do that the first time and it prevented EDIABAS from working properly. Good luck!

The daten v43 update worked and I was able to access CIC and do the changes I need.

I found Ediabas ver 7.2 and I will update the ver 6.4.7 that I am using currently to eliminate the step pf renaming the ECU file within Ediabas each time I need to use CIC module........

Good luck. I'd recommend keeping the original EDIABAS config around too though (with both the original and updated ECU folders) because I've run across a couple error messages using the new one occasionally in some recent coding sessions. I didn't take the time to see whether there was another cause or whether it was certain models or model years because they were other people's cars and I didn't want to take up their time with that, but in those cases switching back to the older version with the new or old ECU folders got me back in business. If I learn anymore from testing on my end I'll update though.

Hi,

I just got my 1M last week and I started coding it. BUt I have a problem with my VIM. The first time after I coded the CIC file and change these

CIC
VIDEO_NUR_MIT_HANDBREMSE
nicht_aktiv

2.
CIC
SPEEDLOCK_X_KMH_MAX_C0E
3_kmh

3.
CIC
SPEEDLOCK_X_KMH_MIN_C0E
3_kmh

I was able to watch the dvd when driving. BUt after I switch the DVD and try to play again, it's not working anymore, up until today.

I tried different key, switch off/on again. nothing works.

ANd I am using Daten V43 and V42 is not working for me (only CIC part not working), other are fine.

and my CIC file is CIC.C1A

What did I do wrong?

Take a look at the attached PDF which details 2 different methods of enabling VIM.

Hmm, not sure what to tell you then. It's possible BMW updated their software so that hack no longer works. And given that you have your 1M now, sounds like it's time to update your sig and profile. Congrats btw!

Hi,

I know changing "NAVI_MAPMODE_AUTOMATIC" in the CIC module add the "Automatic" option but it doesnt work on the E92 2009/2010 according to the Spreadsheet in the first page of the this post. My question is why?

did anyone messed with it and got it to work on the E92 2009/10. Is there something else need to be programmed for this option to work. I mean the Night/Day of the nav to change is there. Automatic light is there....

???

Thanks

It doesn't seem to work on 3 Series cars, period. If I had to guess it's because the headlamp controller isn't wired into CIC on those cars, or whatever common component the headlamps and CIC are wired into doesn't pass input from the former into the latter. Either way, it would mean that the CIC has no way to determine when the headlights are on and therefore when to switch automatically.

I'm ambivalent about it. On the one hand my last car had this functionality and I liked it. On the other, there have been times I've wanted my lights on while my map stayed in Day mode. So I just set one of my CIC buttons to be the Night mode toggle and it's no big deal.
