I just watched the first episode and liked it. So many shows to watch, too little time.

I got caught up in the Netflix series "Inventing Anna" starring Julia Garner, it's amazing how gullible people can be. After watching Tinder Swindler last week, I see a trend...

Thinking about starting "Raised by Wolves" on HBO Max. Good?

We started 'Inventing Anna' last night. My wife isn't sold on Garner as the protagonist. I suspect she'll grow on us though. Incredible story.

Yes, I am. When I saw the trailer the other day on HBO Max I told myself I need to check it out. Looked promising and knowing that Ridley Scott directed it, I figured it ought to be good.

Watchin git now, well trying to. The dialogue is UNBELIEVABLY quiet and everything else SO UCKING LOUD so i am constantly on the remote trying to adjust the sound.

Drives me absolutely batshit crazy.

I am 20 minutes in, tough sledding, really is, regardless of sound issues.

Ok so Raised by wolves, watched 2 episodes. The quiet dialogue/super loud everything else is maddening, really is. I mean this is always an issue for some fucking reason but never experienced it as bad as it is on this show. To give you an idea, for dialogue I have my TV sound on 15, when the scene changes to action etc I set it to 2. It's ridiculous.

The show itself, it's ok, i may give it a go, it's not great though tbh and i can already see it tying itself in knots.

Oh, once you said TV, my advice will no longer work.

I was going to say go into your A/V receiver and turn up the center channel as that's typically where most of the dialogue comes from. I've had surround sound setups since college (so 17+ years), so I forget that many still don't.

Not really a series but I have been watching a couple dark documentaries that have been REAL interesting!

We Need to Talk About Cosby, which as you can imagine, is about the rise and fall of Bill Cosby. There is so much stuff that he did good from the start of his career that I just never knew about. The thing that drives me nuts is the show lets you know about all the good he did, show the nostalgic things from my childhood, then they destroy the image by conversing on his assaults. I mean its insane

The other is Secrets of Playboy. Now I always figured the Playboy mansion was a freakfest and what not but the shit that went on there was effin DARK! Hef was a sick sick dude, not the nice pervy grandpa in silk robes 24/7 we all thought he was.

Both of these are really interesting and I definately recommend them.

Honorable mention "Janet Jackson". Chronicles her life from a little kid all the way up to now. Hits on the infamous Super Bowl wardrobe malfunction and the unequal negativity that she carried after that event.

1. "Destroy his image?" The dude literally drugged and raped dozens of women, he destroyed his image, not a documentary.

2. Did you really say "nice pervy grandpa?" A guy who ran a porn empire for decades, did you think he was Mr. Rogers?

I'm sorry if that's not how you meant to come off, but it sounds really sympathetic toward these guys.

OT: I never knew what the big fuss was about the infamous 'wardrobe malftn', she had a nipple pastie on, wasn't even arguably or technically nude. The Europeans are right, Yankees are such prudes, in addition to getting fooled that this was an 'accident'.

Gomorrah on HBO Max. Just found out about it. Think Sopranos meets Narcos. It's about the gang wars in Naples. Has to be watched in Italian if you can deal with subtitles. The English dub just doesn't do the show justice. I just marathoned the first season over the weekend just finishing tonight and I want to start season 2 right now.

No you missed the point. What I am saying is they spent a lot of time reminiscing of the Cosby & Hef that everyone saw in the public eye and then flipped the script and told you the stories you never heard which tarnished their images. Oddly enough they both did a lot of good that I had no idea they actually did but it was clearly to cover or try to make themselves feel better for the dirty shit they did.

I don't know what the big deal was either. It happened so fast damn near no one ACTUALLY saw it. I mean no one said much of anything when Lil Kim went to the Grammy's I think it was, with an entire boob out. Her dress was made without half the top and she had a clam shell nipple pasty...no one said a damn thing. I don't get it either

It's one of many periodic, subtle tests to see how susceptible ppl are to certain thoughts and it passed w flying colors. Just like when they had plants all over media saying an avg-looking woman w the long curly hair and a horse-laugh was the 'most beautiful woman in the world'.

Watched the first few episodes of Midnight Mass on Netflix. Damn it cranked up a notch in episode 3 (Book III: Proverbs). Kind of gave me the chills. So many questions raised now!!
