Wrapped the M3 mirror caps in 4D CF
Not a great finish but covers up the orange and will do the job until I order in some genuine CF caps

Going to fit these bad boys tomorrow

Mod 97 - M3 mirrors

First of all sending out a big thanks to Hotsd (Tom) for supplying these mint auto folding M3 mirrors

Make sure to hit him up if you are after 2nd hand BMW parts, wish I met him about 96 mods ago

Meanwhile finally got around to wrapping the mirror covers and installing them
Wrapping them was a pain in the ass !!! took hours lots of swearing and ended by with the weave running in different directions on the drivers and passengers side... but im no pro and they are only temp until the CF caps arrive

Install however, was very easy to do, didn't even need to remove the door panels
I put together a DIY in case anyone wants to do this too
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...5#post22933715

Worth every cent.. just need to code it now to get the mirrors to fold in

Pics below:

Pic 1 - M3 Mirrors direct from Tom sporting orange competition covers
Pic 2 - M3 mirrors with socket CF wrapped covers (not pro, but will do ftm)
Pics 3 & 4 - Drivers side before and after
Pic 5 & 6 - Passenger side before and after
Pic 7 & 8 - Before and after
Pic 9 & 10 - Random shots just for the hell

Thanks mate

My stockies were not folding but everything on the M3 set works (ie adjustment, down for reverse) They don't fold of course because they need to be coded

Mod 98 - Custom ST Air Filter

The crushed up air filter under the hood was very sad looking and had to go

Replaced it with 3 inch stainless pipework, to position the air filter over the manifold where there is more room

Not exactly stealthy, but if I have to pop the hood for the Po-Po they might not see it

Pics below

Pic 1 - Sad crushed air filter set up
Pics 2, 3 & 4 - New air filter set up
Pic 5 - Hood still closes despite the massive 3 inch pipe sitting on the radiator fan

Feel any difference with the new air filter? Looks like it's going to get lots of air now?

Nice one Socks, did you think about placing it down under the front left headlight where Coupes put his addition to the stock airbox?

Air is likely to be cooler down the front there

Just finished reading through 168 pages of your build and thank you for making me short sighted mate . But seriously what a build and to think you stuck through is remarkable. I've had many modified cars and now I'm in the market for a 335, your build gave me pretty much all the answers and ideas on what to do and how to approach it. As for the Dyno numbers God every forum you go to there is someone banging on about who's car made bloody what. Sad truth is that many don't even have anything modified and never felt 250kw atw car, let alone anything more than that. Secret to a good overall street car is response and bit of top end since you spend 70% driving under 5000 rpm BUT I'm sure that there will be someone out there that will disagree. Keep up the good work bud and also if you have any tips when it comes to what to look out for when buying a 335 please PM me.

Thanks Cloud mate
600+ hp on the 7670 at 24 psi
Prob a little too much boost to be safe as mentioned
8374 looks like a nice turbo trade off would be slightly less responsive down low
Nice write up thou
