in general, a custom tune for the mods and a particular car should provide more gains but not leaps and bounds...

if I had to guess, basically what you see in the above dyno is the stage 2 or 2+ tuning running on a stock car, rebranded as a stage 1 by the pro tuner...just a hunch
EFI is very well respected, they don't just rebrand the stage 2 and call it a custom tune... They're one of the best subaru/gtr pro tuners around. They don't fuck around - there's a reason they're one of the first shops (if not- THE first) with the ability to pro tune the n54. Ask Cobb about them

sorry, didn't mean to disrespect at all and i don't know them...I'd just like to think that after 4 years with this platform we do and must know what stock turbos on a stock car on pump gas can/can't do "safely" for given boost/timing/afr...nonetheless, respectful numbers for a stock car for sure

the reason why i personally find this a lot more interesting, other than numbers, is that pro tuners are getting their hands on AccessTuner Pro and the platform is making progress, all i care about in the end

i know only as much as i posted, so i'm not going to discuss how safe or not that specific tune is. we all know custom will always be better - time will tell soon how much better now that we're getting closer to this. I just know how awesome EFI is, so i trust what they're doing.

+1 for EFI, very well respected subie tuner.

And, can anyone really say they know the "safe" limit of the n54? In subie land people replace shortblocks like we swap a set of wheels. I'd tend to think "safe" on the n54 has more to do with heat and it's associated effects on peripheral hardware, as compared to knock/det on most every other platform.

Forgive the newbie question, been away from the scene for a while due to school.

I currently have the Procede v2.5 with IC, DP, exhaust, intake. How does the COBB stage 2 compare? I realize there are probably eighty seven gillion threads on it, looking for a quick breakdown though.

I had my downpipes installed and the "Service engine soon" light came on. Flashed to stage 2 and it went away for a while, but it has now come back on.

I bought my car CPO 3 months ago, so I don't think it needs to be serviced soon. Is this due to Downpipe still or is this a real service needed? When I got the car it had 27,000 miles now has 28,600.

THANKS!

Get a BT tool and read the code.

It is most likely due to being catless, but may also be time for an oil change. Can't really tell without the codes!

I thought Stage 2 turned off the cat codes? I don't know if they pop up or not because of my dp fix

stage 2 does turn off those codes (cat efficiency monitors) and that's why my advice to him is to scan the codes and see what's up...i bet its not catalytic converter related OR he may have loaded back the stage 1 map by mistake

Troubleshooting-> check codes

While you're at it, click on tune and see current tune. You may have accidently selected stage 1(as Dzenno suggested)

Quick question: Does selection a new map delete existing log files? Because I just did a few logs (at least I thought I did), then flashed the car to another map and did another datalog and only one later showed on the AP.

Is that normal?

So, you have a SES light with no codes found? That is weird. My advice is to email cobb tuning and see what they have to say.

If there was another problem not related to the flash, would it still show up in the codes?
